The Fermi paradox (I had typed it wrong) Basically if the universe is so huge and suppusto be crawling with life why does it seem like alien life has not visited earth as far as we can tell

There's countless and countless  possible and likely explanations

One of them is that were seen as this violent and unenlightened race that no Alien therefore thinks we're worth starting any diplomatic relations with

Tv movies often put aliens as these bad guys exterminating us but maybe we're the ones that are worse than most races :rip:

Seems plausible.  And some movies use that theme where aliens think humans are too violent and have not yet evolved into beings worth visiting.

If I were an alien species and saw how Earthlings treated each other, why would I interact with such a dangerous, primitive species that abuses other of its kind?

Or like Avatar where we are the toxic invaders

Many scientists now think Humans are very early comers to universe because we haven't hit peak star formation yet and also the 1st generation stars in the universe in theory wouldn't be able to create life because the Universe was basically just hydrogen. Until the first generation if stars died and spewed out heavier elements it's harm to imagine any kind of life existing as hydrogen alone

So humans would be extremely primative right now by intelligent species standards since science hasn't really taken off till a few hundred years ago and civilization a few thousand so many species could be millions of even billions of years ahead with technology so advanced to us it would look like magic

But over the longer term in the Universes life span we are one of the first so if we survive we may actually be among the more advanced races

So if we don't learn to get our sh*t together what happened in the movie avatar may indeed happen for real :enigma:

Another example why the whole system is corrupt!

An elderly man who posed no threat forced to the ground bleeding form his ear who is now in a stable but serious condition at ECMC and the story they give is that it was an altercation and he tripped!? And on top of all that the officer only gets a suspension.... If it wasn't for the video they would have done nothing.

All because it looked like he was returning a helmet

We need to collectively start envisioning a future where cops have significantly less power than they currently do, and that people such as various types of social service workers are the ones responding to incidents because cops cannot be trusted.

That's called the uk police system :laughga: essentially nifty social workers with handcuffs.

I also think the police situation in America is a big indicator of why guns need tighter controls. These psychos are given guns, imagine the instability of people with guns who arent employed to have them.

I despair, actually.

Science fiction so often predicts seemingly impossible things that become reality decades later.

Btw, did you see the Cirque du Soleil show Toruk, which was based on Avatar?

What can you even say to this s**t anymore? There are absolutely no words. 3 man pushing an elder like that? For not responding in 2 seconds? He had 2 seconds to act and if not he gets a push? Do they think maybe he has a hearing problem? Do they think he maybe is deaf? Do they think that maybe he has congnitive issues? Do they think that maybe he was so starttled that he couldn’t react so quick? And EVEN IF he refused to move, is violence like that neccessary? An army of cops and would of have been THAT hard to take him to the side without violence? AN OLD MAN? F**k all the cops!!

This :bradley:  I'm speechless...

So true. Star Trek for example first had something simmilar to a cell flip  Phone on the original series from the 1960s

Star Trek also has computer voice interaction which is basically is just a more advanced version of what we have now with "hey google" for example

3D printing could also be a primative version of the replicators

The series took place hundreds of years from now yet the first star trek series are only a few decades old :air:

Omg they might have killed another one, AGAIN. I don't think they think before they act. They're the very essence of 'macho' men.

How do we end this?

Inside, we are really made the same. 🕊
