Billboard and Gaga

I am so bored in quarantine, so I did a quick google search on Gaga. So for some reason I can't get it to link, but the Billboard article on Gaga's Zane interview feels...low key shady? The tone just seems odd, and the headline is "Gaga was ashamed to hang out with Ariana" which seems very click-baity? Like they were hoping some fans would jump to conclusions and assume Gaga was shading Ariana and click. Even the sh*tty tabloids seem to have better headlines/be less click baity.

Anyway, I remember some (not all) of the coverage of Joanne was kind of strange, too. Is Billboard like this towards most female pop artists? As in, semi-negative or snarky a la Pitchfork? I remember they published some unnecessarily shady pieces on Katy after Witness, but I don't know if Gaga and Katy are the exceptions and not the rule. If they aren't, I wonder if there's just a journalist there who writes on Gaga/Katy/etc. and doesn't care for them much. It doesn't seem like it happens all the time, either, because I know I've read positive write ups on Gaga from Billboard in the past (and I'm almost positive they had a positive write up for SL).

*I'm not being like a cupcake type of stan who expects everyone to worship Gaga or not call her out if she says something problematic. It doesn't seem like the article is calling her out for anything, either, but the tone just seems...weird...so I am curious if this is a Pitchfork like situation that I've never really noticed until now. For anyone who is curious and not aware, Pitchfork tends to be very harsh on pop girls and unnecessarily snarky in general.

Delusional

Billboard is so f*cking strange. They could put out an article on Gagas best most amazing songs and then the next week rank her bottom in the top 500 pop artists ever. :triggered:
