GGD has ruined the era for me

In saying that, I won’t let the negative comments/ threads ruin this for me anymore. You’re supposed to be her fans/ supporters not her haters. In fact, it wouldn’t bother me now if she cancelled everything cause some of fans don’t deserve the music.

We’re not supposed to be anything. We are fans, yes. But that doesn’t mean we’re devoid of creative thinking or the ability to speak our mind about the art that is being displayed and sold to the public, and thereby leaving it open to criticism and praise.

I don’t think anyone’s opinion on her should affect your perception of the work itself. If you find the work enjoyable, then it is enjoyable to you. That’s the beauty and subjectivity or art. It’s that nobody, not even the artist themselves can tell you how to interpret their work.

You’re allowing the honest feedback from other members to affect your enjoyment and that is not a right thing to do for yourself because at the end of the day, it’s your experience and if you can’t enjoy the album because of a certain forum, then maybe you can avoid it altogether since it’s just a virtual space, nor anything that is forced on you or anything that is infringing on your right, either. Also, just because someone isn’t praising and worshiping her doesn’t mean they’re “whining”, “b*tching”, “complaining” or “being toxic”. It’s ok to dislike something. It’s your responsibility to form your own take on things and to ignore what you dislike, and a healthy debate and criticism is something to be encouraged, and not to be brushed off as “toxicity”.

I agree 100% on that, but registering on such a forum and not expecting such things to happen is just delusional. There always will be some fans who don't like the era, some are just trolling or having fun to make negative threads about everything. Whatever reason it is, don't let it bother you  .

And we are supportive and caring. Otherwise the Chromatica thread wouldn't exist in its third reincarnation with almost 1800 pages and a separate ROM thread with 23 pages. Why is your excitement for the era so heavily influenced by what others say about it? Just have fun and enjoy the ride

*ahem* As someone who's been here right before ARTPOP, all of Joanne, and before Chromatica.... I feel you.  

The first era here is rough, and AP was ruined a *little* for me because of the negativity, so I understand if you feel over-whelmed.  BUT, Joanne & Chromatica still feel good to me and I've never been this excited since waiting for BTW. 

Throughout your time here, you just learn not to let anybody's opinions get in the way of your enjoyment.  After all, your own opinion is the one that only counts.  You shouldn't let anyone destroy your enjoyment.  

And trust me... most of GGD is really nice.  It's just the vocal minority can ruin the majority.  Sending love!!

I would also add that: yes, in a utopia there would be no complainers and everyone is civil, but that's just not the reality and you need to adjust to the environment....  you're probably coming at a bad time.. not gonna lie.  So maybe it's best if you do log-off between right after ROM and Chromatica's release date.  If you want to discuss Chromatica, do it right after the album sinks in your head.  That's the best advice I can give you if you want to stay here & enjoy Chromatica.....

 

And believe me, I'm the last kind of person who would even otter the words to another person to "just log off".

I know exactly what u mean but I try to enjoy this era as much as I can, especially cuz it’s my first era as a die hard fan to experience it from the very first start (except from ASIB) and I can’t wait to drive to the store next week to buy the brand new CD.

There doesn’t seem to be any more hate than usual. Clearly this era was important to you and you were expecting everyone to be on your level. Sorry that didn’t work out, but of course it didn’t and it’s never going to. So just take GGD for what it’s worth that way you won’t be disappointed. It’s a good place to go for a laugh or for some quick entertainment.
