The star, who is currently based in the UK, catapults into the richest musicians list as a new entry at Number 3 with her 2020 wealth estimated at £468m, powered by her Fenty cosmetics brand, Savage lingerie line and eight hit albums. Rihanna sits behind Andrew Lloyd Webber and Sir Paul McCartney, who rank joint first with £800m each to their name. Webber's wealth has reportedly taken a £20m tumble due to the impact of COVID-19 on his West End shows, while McCartney's is up £50m following his ongoing world tour and bestselling children's book Hey Grandude! Once dominated by inherited wealth, the bulk of our 1000 entries are now self-made people with modest and even troubled starts in life who are driven to work exceptionally hard. “Still only 32, if Rihanna remains based in the UK she could well pip Sir Paul McCartney and Lord Lloyd-Webber to be The Sunday Times Rich List’s first billionaire musician." Completing the Top 5 are Sir Elton John on £360m, up £40m thanks to his farewell tour, and Sir Mick Jagger on £285m. At 29 years old, Ed Sheeran tops the list of the world's wealthiest young musicians under 30, with £200m, and places tenth on the overall list. The singer-songwriter is reported to have earned more than £600m from his 255-date world tour, selling nine million tickets.
