But I'm sure the reopening has much to do with it being a Disney property and the fact that China barely has any cases nowadays from what we know. But at the end of the day, Americans won't care what China is doing regrading the reopening of venues. I mean, people will riot if the NFL season is canceled or delayed. True I’m a sports fan and would literally be depressed if NBA 2020-21 season gets canceled or postponed. I can only imagine how crazy it would be for NFL. I'm a Bucks fan and the chance of them completely canceling the rest of the season would be devastating. But I don't know how they'll pick up in July/Aug which are the rumored start dates to finish the season and yet somehow start up the next season in Sept... The NFL is tricky because it starts in the summer. I'm sure the virus will be controlled by then. However, it's the 2nd possible wave coming in the Fall that's worrisome which takes place in the middle of the season. Football has the largest congregation of people in the States which is bad. It'll probably come down to risk and liability. Because of course NFL owners don't want to risk people's lives. It'll be interesting to see if they make any type of decisions prior to the season. The model in China works because people are obedient and are willing to follow established protocol and procedures. This will not fly in the US. It’s because the Chinese are used to be ruled with an iron red boot on their neck while the United States was literally built on the concept of defiance against a ruling class. I still am highly suspicious of China and its case count. They explicitly said asymptomatic cases were not part of the official count and from what we understand asymptomatic cases seem to constitute anywhere from 50-80% of COVID cases (which fun fact — didn’t know this — the flu is also known to be asymptomatic in a similar proportion of cases which explains why so many of us seem to get sick out of nowhere). Also let’s not forget the sociopathic measures China took to prevent further spread (like soldering people in their homes). China is trying to do PR as a model country but they’ve already spoiled it by lying to the World Health Organization and buying out their Director General. Preventing the publication of important research regarding COVID, killing whistleblowers, not wanting to share the genomic sequence of COVID initially, sending faulty PPE and testing kits all over Asia and preparing military drills ...
