She has taken the high road but I don't blame her for being tired of it and finally speaking up for herself. And if Gaga was treated that way at one point... she obiously didn't dreserve it because she didn't do anything to anyone to be treated like that... they just have looked for it. Your point is.....? Charts are irrelevant. They're so totally biased towards pop music. Look at all the huge hits in recent years. Most of them are by crappy talent-less b---hes. This is nothing like that, and pretending like it is does a disservice to discussions about the ethical, political, and personal implications of both. And I clearly didn't say Gaga defending herself was tacky. I said Gaga implying commercial success validates art is tacky. And it is. Actually, no it's not ineffective. The general idea that people give unto others when being bullied, regardless of what the subject matter is about, is that the victim should be quiet and not say anything. That is an illogical action, one which does not solve anything or help the victim escape from the bully. In fact, the bully then sees that nothing is done about it, and they continue to do it. Die Antwoord made a video mocking her, saying she has something wrong with her genitals, and then portrayed her getting murdered. And obviously, the whole purpose of them doing this, is because they are craving attention from the biggest popstar in the world. Hence why they constantly bring up them turning down the tour opportunity in almost every interview since. They want attention. So, the end result, is that Lady Gaga did EXACTLY what she was supposed to. She has had over 10 #1 hits on the Billboard Charts, without having to talk **** about someone.
