The whole situation just highlights exactly why Big games like this need Gay characters. There's still so much homophobia in the gaming community, All it takes is a scroll trough Twitch to see that.

Personally I think the outrage is a small vocal minority and most support the idea which is great. If a gay character ruins a game for them then good riddance, Times are changing and that ideology is going to leave them in the past.

There's so much hearsay going on when it comes to this story, that at this point I'm just gonna wait till the game comes out and see for myself - if the story sucks, oh well, but something tells me it will be fine, people are just freaking out about nothing and letting bigots drive the narrative

Going by your opening post, you’re not buying the game because people are being homophobic and transphobic (confused about the latter also, Ellie is gay and it’s been known for years, that one other character in the game is not trans) now that they know the game’s plot, is that correct? Or you just lost interest in the game after reading about what goes down in it and you’re in disagreement about the handling of some established characters in the sequel?

If it’s the former what do the developers have to do with it?

Yes, but she’s not trans and she’s not killing that character because he’s a straight white man. She’s seeking revenge. Some are also saying she is an angry feminist simply because she tortured an killed him, but that makes no sense. He killed her dad, so she’s killing him.

She looks she has a male physique espesially in the leaked video. She looks like a pre-op trans-woman which makes sense because in the apocalypse you can't do hormones or surgeries etc.
