NFRatwell 23,290
Personally I’ve always felt that Deluxe Tracks should be for demos, unfinished songs, and remixes. But (in Gaga’s case since this is Gaga thoughts) Gaga puts new and complete songs in there too. Why is this? Has Gaga ever given a reason as to why some songs don’t make it to the standard edition? Or is it all for marketing reasons (and if so, how does one chose what tracks go on deluxe). Songs that have been put to deluxe/bonus tracks: Spoiler Again, Again Disco Heaven Retro Dance Freak (actually TF is a mess trying to organize because there are so many versions... technically I Like It Rough is a bonus in Canadian iTunes, and Christmas Tree is a bonus song on the USB version) BJAF FOHL The Queen Grigio Girls Just Another Day Love Me Right also some CTC songs like Bang Bang and Bewitched but again... kinda a mess with all the different versions
Cookie Tookie 10,546
Because people should have the option to pay slightly more for more songs. It makes sense to me. The music industry is greedy, and we play into it.
Stephen 30,426
Tons of artist do new songs on the deluxe. Like that's extremely common idk what you mean

gumzy3000 7,348
I really do not like when artists do this. Unless the songs on the deluxe version are remixed versions of the songs in the standard album version, there is no reason to have new songs on a deluxe version of an album. When I listen to an album, I like to pay attention to the sequence of songs. Having a deluxe version sort of ruins this and it makes me think that the songs in the deluxe version are not good enough or inferior to be put in the standard album version. Rant over. trolly troll troll
Jewels n Drugs 4,629
Well nowadays its a marketing cheat to release the deluxe version with new songs months later to help album streams oh look when you werent looking my motorcycle turned into a piano
SLAG 7
Why would you put unfinished songs/demos on albums? When you could just use them at some point later on? I think if you want more song you pay for more or remixes. I definitely wouldn’t pay more for demos/unfinished songs when I could just wait for someone to upload them to youtube

Having a deluxe version sort of ruins this and it makes me think that the songs in the deluxe version are not good enough or inferior to be put in the standard album version. Rant over. Same! I was thinking about that, and maybe they do it so that the shiny deluxe sticker would get more people to buy the album, because "oh my gosh it's probably a limited edition, I'd better not waste this opportunity", whereas if all the albums on the shelves were normal, less people would buy. So the bonus songs are maybe just an excuse to say that one edition is deluxe... I hope not, it sounds ridiculous and cheap, but you never know The worst example of weird deluxe editions is Rebel Heart, the title track was a bonus song! What's the point? And on Dedicated, by our good queen Carly Rae Jepsen, "Party for One" is also a bonus track, and it's a SINGLE, with an actual music video! Why would they do that!? FentyGa 14,340
because some songs are great but maybe not good enough for the official tracklist or not cohesive enough. so why not make some money off of them?
Zedd 6,332
Based on Kesha's latest album, "Big Bad Wolf" from Japanese Edition (like Deluxe Version for Japan) is the best song in whole album. In this case deluxe song is better then rest of the album. The ARTPOP Zedd
Illuminati 15,922
I'm pretty sure people have been putting normal "leftover" finished songs on deluxes for ages now.
Hades 27,980
Gaga is one of the few artists that actually put weaker songs on the deluxe.
DavidLuis198 1,146
I think the original concept was adding songs that were not really fit into the album theme or concept, lyrically or sonically, but artists still want to release. If you pay attention to those, you can get them out of the album, and the album will still make total sense. But Gaga is weird with this... like, Again Again, Disco Heaven and Retro Dance Freak, i love two of those, but The Fame don't really need it them. With Born This Way, you have Black Jesus, Fashion of His Love, and the Queen, and I think those kind add something to the album (you could get Fashion of His Love out, good song, but the album don't need it). Now, with Joanne, I really don't understand it... Grigio Girls are totally the vibe of the album, and Just Another Day could be take off, but at the same time it works really well... so yeah... Gaga is weird I don't know how to write in english
