I have a feeling this is not about Gaga.

But if it is? Sad. :wtf:

Honestly, that's kind of pathetic of her....especially as I'm not sure Gaga even knows she exists. I don't even follow her really, but I know she also still randomly brings up Mark on occasion in these really passive aggressive ways.  It's sad... she's very talented, but a 40 something year old woman shouldn't be acting like a petty teenager...especially when her targets don't even acknowledge or mention her. In Madonna's defense, Gaga kind of needled her but in this case...nothing.

at the very end of this video

tbh on the one hand I think it's really badass to be so vocal about wanting justice for an album in your discography you  feel didn't get its due, and more artists should do this. I mean, it just BLOWS my mind Overpowered is from 2007 and could be released today and still sound fresh. but yeah this is definitely not the way to go about it, after random Mark drags and the whole Robyn thing she's coming more and more across like a clown

I feel like Gaga definitely knows who Roisin is though, because she was clearly an inspiration during The Fame era, both musically and visually. To me she's more like an artist's artist (like Grace Jones) that may not be known by the masses but is still highly influential among artists

I honestly think she’s just having a poke at the music critics rather than a fellow artist.

As we all know by now, pop art is not art pop, which is not ARTPOP.

Pop art was Andy Warhol.

Art pop is ... well it’s whatever the critics say it is.

And ARTPOP is  :firega:  :koons:

Three connected though distinct concepts.

Guys, huge fan of Roisin here. Here comment is about the music critics that hated the Overpower album, some reviews back in 2007 called it to ARTPOP. It has nothing to do with Gaga.
The term ARTPOP to describe music and a certain sound of music was introduced by Bjork critics back in 90’s.
Roisin Murphy is a fantastic artists and that comment has nothing to do with Gaga or the album.

“Art pop was also about an unlearning of rock’s instrumentation and structure and a cultivation of a romance with the synthesizer and the dancefloor. The wooing of the dancefloor was reciprocated by disco: Chic's ambition was to be the 'black Roxy Music'.”

This!!!!!!

she did a listening party for her album last night.
In 2007 when Overpowered was released it was called “ARTPOP” and “avant-garde “ and she hated that. She wanted to do a pop funky disco album. She didn’t want to be taken to seriously.

Bitter bitch

No need to call her that. That’s uncalled for. The word ARTPOP doesn’t belong to Gaga. It’s been around for years to describe music.

Art pop actually goes all the way back to the Beatles and David Bowie. When they brought artsy and avant-garde sounds to pop music. But Bjork is a great example. I'd site FKA Twigs and Grimes in that category too. It's an actual music genre and not just a play on words.

She was saying in the caption that Gaga is a 'twat' for inventing the word ARTPOP and basically implying that Gaga is pretentious and not creative. If she was using the word positively like Gwen Stefani I'd be loving it!

I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.

I'm allowed to still like Roisin because I know that Gaga is 1000 times more successful :vegas: Overpowered is an absolute bop
