She has a high bar for her music after BR, all her songs are iconic tho, I think MTN is on BR level, she always delivers, still need to hear Chromatica and see. :firega:

YES. I'm tired of BR. I wont say that the song is overrated, but I'm not not saying it. The song is great, sure, one of the greatest pop songs of all time. But it's not even in her top 5 songs for me. I don't even think it's the best song on TFM. I think that as a fanbase, we hold on to the decade old legacy between the song and the music video for no reason at all, because she outdid both those things with Marry The Night. You all hold this song so high to the point of where it overshadows the rest of her discography. So musically, yes, she has. In terms of fame and impact, I'd even argue BTW did so much more.

I love that you both mentioned Marry The Night. For me that is the most personal, beautiful, and powerful song and on an album like Born This Way it truly inspired me to persevere through my own most difficult moments. Marry The Night, Always Remember Us This Way, and Bad Romance are my “holy trinity” all for different reasons so it’s hard for me to answer my own question :billie:

I think Gaga musically has topped Bad Romance with Marry The Night and even ARUTW which is just completely different since it’s a ballad, but in terms of cultural impact and success Born This Way and Shallow come close but don’t quite compare to Bad Romance in pure pop iconography and peak success. Gaga has done so many incredible, incomparable things in her career that go beyond just pop music that in my eyes winning an Oscar (and so many other awards in both singing and acting), doing the Super Bowl halftime show, singing the Sound of Music in arguably her best vocal performance ever, raising hundreds of millions for COVID-19 relief, and saving lives with Born This Way are HUGE, IMPACTFUL acts that surpass her immense success of Bad Romance.

So overall my answer is yes :ally:

I don't know what topping is :(

Is it something similar to surpass?

Yes, as in “topping will never surpass bottoming” :huntyga:
