I think for you to like an album you don't need to have a recent sound, the sound of The Fame may even sound dated, but that's not why I'm going to stop listening, after all the electronic and dance aspect of the album is better than 50% of what plays on radio today. But of course this is MY opinion.

the fame had a lot of potential but you could still see that she was a newbie so she couldn't go full "gaga" and show us who she really is as an artist (which is understandable) I think TFM shows who gaga is way better and really made her a pop icon and like he said TFM songs sound "fresh" to this day, I don't get that feeling with the fame

THIS. ASIB is everything gaga wanted Joanne to be. However I think she was scared to go full force on country rock (half this fanbase would have killed her) so she made some cute (and forgettable) songs like hey girl and just another day

Yeah I agree. Half of Joanne always felt kinda cringe to me because it felt like she was so close to going all in but just decided to make watered down pop country. I like blood pop as a producer but I think he defiantly soured most of the album with his pop elements and mastering. If she had stuck with just Mark Ronson and Kevin Parker it probably would have been more cohesive. I think Joanne, Million reasons, and Just another day are some of the best songs on the album because she fully committed to a sound. all three of those songs could easily fit onto the ASIB soundtrack.

I think the reason they still didn't cancel the tour dates is because they gonna use the tour bundles to boost the 1st week sales, so I guess the album will certainly come before july.

True, songs like John Wayne and perfect illusion are great examples. I mean the perfect illusion instrumental is one of her best, I looove the small details, the psychedelic vibe, it SLAPS. However it didn't fit in Joanne LIKE AT ALL WTF , it's like seeing tame impala releasing a cute country album, it just didn't work.

John Wayne is that kind of song I keep expecting it to go hard with the guitar and the instrumental and deliver us some true country rock and it just doesn't happen, it's annoying ahah

You're right.

But as i was responding to the other member's comment, i don't think that stop listening to an album simply because the sound of it becomes dated is not something that fits.

Did The Fame age bad? Yes, but it's still a classic and it doesn't matter if the sound is old, i'll still listen.

Look at Michael Jackson's Thriller, and Britney Spears' Baby One More Time are both excellent albums, but you see that the production is back in the 80s and 90s, but it remains classic and they're still commented and appreciated nowadays.
