Ally Campana 15,284
Y’all truly need some humbling from your entitlement. I hope Chromatica comes out on December 31, 2021. Does it matter? Damage is done

You raise a really fair point, and thank you so much for being polite to me It's a limited edition bundle which I think is trying to push people to buy it in the middle of a pandemic. I suppose it'd be the equivalent of Gaga going online and doing another 99 cents giveaway of her album or something, wouldn't it? It does make it less of an equivalence on that level, I agree. But I would argue that she said it doesn't feel right to release an album right now, presumably morally finding it wrong to try and make money during a pandemic. And isn't this presumably what Haus Labs are doing now with this bundle? Another area where I think your comparison might falter slightly is in the fact that her previous albums are for sale, but she's not going out of her way to promote them. They're just there. And this is different to what Haus Labs are doing, I think you would agree (even if you disagree that this matters)? My point here personally is just that is seems slightly hypocritical. But I don't personally mind the fact that makeup is being released, and I'm not arguing for that. I'm just pointing out what appears to be an inconsistency in the application of her moral compass. Also, as Crimson Heart (I think) said, it's good that people have jobs in this pandemic. I'm of the opinion it's not morally wrong to release the makeup or the album

It’s a harder product to get right with the formulas and stuff than lip gloss and eye shadow so it makes sense they’d start where they did reality’s tight if the music is right
gabeoz 7,915
I stg this company literally cant breathe without this entire website having an overdramatic f*cking meltdown It's literally just a discount bundle of existing product, that's all it f*cking is. There's no major promo going on for this or new product being launched, literally just a discount bundle that has become standard for her brand. How bored must yall be to constantly get pissed about literally nothing. I'm so over the faux outrage.

I'm of the opinion it's not morally wrong to release the makeup or the album I get what you mean, but Gaga doesn’t really promote special offers on her albums anyway, unless it’s a release week and for her own website or something, her albums are her own products that are being distributed through other companies, whereas Haus Labs is her makeup brand and the brand itself directly chooses its own prices and deals. To me it just seems like two completely different worlds in terms of how business is handelled, I don’t think many people here have a valid point about comparing them both and saying she’s being selfish etc. insta: good_lukeing | I have nothing else to promote

Oh no! I did not say that, I didn't see it in this thread (I didn't read it all ) but I definitely disagree with accusations such as those Wow I agree in the sense you described in the first paragraph that they're different. And I agree, makeup is more of a sustained hustle compared to albums, which are typically more of a rush and a build followed by a relative lull promotion-wise. I think we'll have to agree to disagree with respect to comparing them both. I think there is a valid point in saying that 'morally' if one is okay, the other one should be okay too. But you've definitely given me a much more nuanced view, and I thank you for that

In general -- yes I do feel that way, as she's stated she's involved in creating and testing the formulas themselves, and she has helped create and convey the brand messaging. I like to keep up on the news even if she's not the face of every single sales campaign. Same as if she was a producer for a TV show she also guest starred in occasionally -- I'd watch the show even if she's only in some episodes but not all of them. Her hands and mind and creativity are involved to some degree, even if her face isn't always present. In specific, to today's sales announcement -- maybe she was involved in making that decision, maybe not. I can see how it would normally be of no interest with respect to 'Gaga news' for most -- no new photos or quotes makes it not that interesting, except for the "is there hypocrisy or is there not" discussions concerning the new HL shades delay announcement last week and the Chromatica delay announcement last (whenever that was... time passes so differently in quarantine!!). TL;DR for me yeah I'm interested but I can see why most fans wouldn't give a hoot ⚡🐲
