MingersPrayer 583
Light Years was the first Kylie record I had (12th bday present) and then of course Fever which made me buy Impossible Princess. Those are close to my heart. right now I actually think my favourite is Golden. Probably not a popular choice but the lyrics are personal and it feels more mature, closer to where I’m at in life just now. i love so many of her albums though. Actually also listen to the Abbey Road Sessions album a lot at the moment. I just listened to Fever all the way through as I found a new podcast called “Track by Track” and they cover that record. 1. Golden 2. Abbey Road 3. Fever What I will say is Kylie is superb at giving fans what they want. All the box sets, remixes, special editions, acoustic versions. I just wish Madonna & Gaga was this good. I want a piano record from Gaga of her songs or a repackaged Ray of Light with demos & remixes...is that too much to ask!? What are some of your faves? Sorry for the late reply. Just needed to focus on life for a bit. So, the thing about Kylie is that her songs are predominantly dance pop. I can't really say she has much bubblegum pop because a lot of her earlier songs that she has done when she was younger sounds more adult than some of the 30 yr old pop stars these days. Her image and music is predominently sexy and sophisticated. It's somewhat tastefully done and not too vulgar compared to most of the songs these days. So, bubblegum pop is not exactly her genre. I think a lot of fans love "Fever", which was released in 2001/2002. That album is easy to listen to, nothing too deep and it mainly dance pop. Another album you might like is "X" from 2007, although this has the late 00s' rock infused pop style, but just very light rock elements, nothing extreme. If you don't mind the classic 80s sounds, you can listen to her first album "Kylie" when she was a teenager. Oh, just for your info, when most of her fans say self-titled, we mean her 5th album from 1994 named "Kylie Minogue". That album was more conceptual in the lyrics and sound compared to the majority of her albums which you should have a listen.
Blown Away 5,218
I've only heard Fever in full, so that. I've heard some songs like Slow, The Loco-motion, In My Arms, Wow, 2 Hearts, Red Blooded Woman, All The Lovers, Sexercise, Get Outta My Way and Chocolate too (Chocolate is the only one from the list I dislike) I'd like to get into Kylie's discography, which album should I try first? They shipped it, but it got shipped back
