Fiona Apple Receives First Perfect Score from Pitchfork in Ten Years

Fiona Apple’s long-anticipated fifth album Fetch the Bolt Cutters has received the first perfect score from Pitchfork since Kanye West’s 2010 My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. It is the 11th album that has received this honor upon release since the magazine launched in 1995, joining the likes of Bob Dylan and Radiohead. She is also the first female artist to receive this score during initial release. Writing for Pitchfork, critic Jenn Pelley calls the collection “unbound, a wildstyle symphony of the everyday, an unyielding masterpiece.”
