You forgot the fact this SE line is their budget line for those who doesn't feel it is necessary or afford to pay thousands for a new phone but still can have the latest features and chipset. Lay down on the snarkiness 

 

Their flagship expensive ones are always announce by September/October ish. Don't get it confused.

It's a 6 years old design. Most of its features are very dated except it has the newest processor which you can find on the Iphone 11. Honestly i think it may be worth it but here in Italy it's 500 Euros and i can find the Iphone 11 at 600 in street prices so it's not worth it for me

It's not that hard, they have tons and tons of left over parts of the old designs and they are making a profit of it.

People thinking this is a new model that can pair up to iPhone 11 or the new 12 are wrong, this is not meant to appeal to high end models kind of buyer. 

Honestly I had the 1rst gen of SE and it was such a good phone, won't lie I got tired of the design because it looks old but not everyone cares about that

iPhone 8 body is way from looking cheap. It got glass body. It looked great in person. It certainly can compete with other 400$-$500 range phones.

It makes sense then. So Iphone9 was actually a half-baked version of IPhoneX. I still have my Iphone8, bought the 11 for my boyfriend and I might just update mine next year or after that

Ya. No need to rush since iPhone now have 4byears cycle before major redesign.

This year's flagship are rumored to have square body the way iPhone 4 and 5 have, but bigger. So in the next 2 years it wills till have this same design if true.

That's a strange direction that Apple is taking here, they have always sell high end and innovative product and now they launch a mid range product that looks dated.

I hope they come up with something huge this year with the iPhone 12 because even their best models lack some important features that every flagship have nowaday.

There's a lot to find attractive in the budget iPhone. It brings back the home button and Touch ID for those who don't feel comfortable with swipe gestures and Face ID. This not only cuts cost but continues to allow the older folks to use these products without clinging onto a 6 year old phone. The chip is the up to date one found in the flagships, so power consumption is better while also improving speeds. The phone will get iOS updates for the next few years so it will continue to be secure and get a couple of the features brought every year. Some people don't rely on the cameras on their phones so cutting the extra cameras isn't much of a compromise to them. This phone will also fill a void in Asian and European markets, where flagships aren't flaunted as much.
