I voted Sinner's Prayer. It could have done alright on Adult Contemporary radio.

I do think the era was pretty much done even before Joanne as a single came out though.

John Wayne.

- Very 'Gaga'

- short = good streaming & radio numbers

- catchy

- great music video

I think three singles was fine for this kind of album. It wasn't that radio friendly or "likable" world wide. But if it was 4 singles then definitely something like this:

A-Yo

Perfect Illusion

Million Reasons

Joanne

I'll WRECK U right Up...G.U.Y.!!!🌋💥

None would've performed really well as singles to be honest. Hey Girl might have done okay.

In my dreams Diamond Heart would've been #1 everywhere.

She wanted to make it a single but it did not perform well enough on iTunes after the release of the video so they scrapped those plans.

I lowkey felt like she wanted to release it as the lead single. She always seemed very enthusiastic about that song. Even with those "Making Joanne" episodes, she only made two of those: one for MR and the other for A-YO. None for PI (even though it was the lead) or for Joanne, the song.

Also, when she was promoting PI, I don't know, something seemed off...If I remember correctly there was even an inteview where she said that the label chose the song, but then quickly backtracked and said "we chose it".

Gaga crossed that line years ago.

That’s true, she’s always had sexual songs, I just think some parts (like the bridge) might just be a little too much for radio.

I voted Dancin' In Circles, but in fact none. The era was exhausted after 2 singles, a third single would've been possible with the right lead but four wouldn't have been possible either way

Sometimes I wonder how different the era would have been if Gaga included "The Cure" on Joanne. It would have still fit with the theme of the album, IMO, and been a great song to get people listening.

I would have made Diamond Heart the lead (I love PI, but DH seemed the better choice if Gaga wanted a rock inspired lead). Then A-Yo. Then Million Reasons.

EDIT: Dancin' In Circles the third single. Million Reasons the fourth and final...
