Which is part of the reason I don't think the lyrics for SL are very strong. They aren't super digestible in a relatability sense.

If anything, she can do a medley, but I don't think they'll go anywhere. I think for majority of her older singles, they need to become short medleys because as much as I love them, it's starting to get into "legacy act" arena, and I'm honestly tired of the same songs being performed over and over. I thought what she did at the artRAVE was pretty smart. Just Dance immediately into Poker Face and Telephone served as a kind of outro to PF. LoveGame was gone, Paparazzi slayed but that's the best song on TF so It'd be a bit criminal if she ended up like MJ having every tour be slightly different because so many older hits took up so much of the set. It's just that I myself prefer The Fame when it comes to music.. It also holds a great place in my heart because that's when I discovered Gaga and those are hits of my childhood and one of the best times of my life happened back then.. I had the luxury of being a casual fan until Swinefest so I guess that's why my nostalgia glasses are dated 2013, not 2008 She has something for us all

Doot 2
1 minute ago, Regina George said: Yes I also have to agree with this.. Like, let's really think about it. Just Dance - a song about getting drunk at a club and just dancing the night away with friends. Poker Face- a song about poker and also about sex and relationships and the cheeky underside about thinking about chicks during sex. LoveGame - relationships and sex Paparazzi - capitalizing off of our love of celebrity culture and love and obsession. Then you enter Joanne or SL... Perfect Illusion - a vague song about false relationships that have very vague lyrics and according to her is about social media?? Joanne- a song about her aunt, that she never met, focused on death with some religious undertones. Stupid Love- a song that has lyrics which sound like you are reading a self help book and then randomly jumps into wanting someone's "stupid love". I think the reason the GP caught onto the earlier stuff is because she packaged normal people's experiences into lyrics that were both inventive and sly, but something most people could relate to. I also sometimes wonder if because she's been famous for so long and has been living a total unconventional lifestyle that people on masse never experience, that she simply struggles to make lyrics that can create a sense of relatability from the GP to her. I love the song Joanne, but I didn't know Joanne. I can't relate to that. People call her more relatable now because she isn't wearing constant theatrical costumes. But people primarily hear the music before seeing any accompanying visuals. So if the music doesn't connect, it doesn't matter if you are out with a baby on one hip and a glass of wine in the other. They reflect the Gaga I love and the one we all relate to and appreciate. The lafy who writes from her heart, putting pain to pencil to paper. Songs like Dope, Swine, and Joanne are WHY I stan Gaga The Fame perfectly reflects the Gaga the GP loves. The pop superstar there's just not much there to digest from a personal standpoint. Well that's boring Not everything has to be a personal connection. Sometimes in a world full of misery, I want to listen to a song like BBB or Starstruck with no big meaning or personal story behind it. Not everything has to be an overthought mess

That's why she needs to go the Madonna route eventually and just accept that some of her bigger songs need to be cut, otherwise it feels like she's asking people to pay to see more or less the same show.
