Even though I'm not very active here in the forums, since I'm a huge astrology geek and some of you might recognize my Zoadic analyses for ARTPOP Joanne. And here I am once again, this time analyzing our current best pop album of the quarantine, also known as Future Nostalgia. Please note that the analysis is not necessarily based on how Dua portraits herself in each song, but rather on the general feeling of the song and how it relates to each zodiac sign's main traits. Also, the album has 11 tracks, and we have 12 signs. After a deep analysis of all the songs, I couldn't find a perfect fit for the tension, intensity and secretiveness of scorpio, that's why it's the only sign without a song from the album. Aries - Physical Lights out, follow the noise // Baby, keep on dancing like you ain't got a choice // So come on (come on), come on (come on), come on // Let's get physical The impulsive ones of the zodiac! The young souls, the initiators, the natural-born leaders, adrenaline-filled fire beings that are Aries! Physical is all about feeling the adrenaline rush that music and excitement can bring to your body and totally surrender yourself to it - but bringing someone with you, of course. Aries people love energy, action and like to take the lead, so that's why Physical is a perfect fit for the sign. Gemini - Good in Bed It's bad // We drive each other mad // It might be kinda sad // But I think that's what makes us good in bed Good in Bed is not about sex, only (if that'd be the case I'd dedicate it to scorpios, lol, jk). It's about having mixed feelings with someone because you both drive each other mad. Geminis are great with words, they're hard on their own opinions, but lighthearted in a way that allows them to go over discussions and enjoy good intimacy with someone who challenges them. Also, the duality of hate you-love you also relates to the general duality theme of the Gemini sign. And then, well, they can't help but learn to love again. And that's beautiful, to be honest. Leo - Future Nostalgia No matter what you do, I'm gonna get it without ya // I know you ain't used to a female alpha Future Nostalgia is all about independence. It is a feminist anthem and a statement about how women / Dua can achieve great success when other were doubting them / her. Leo are extremely strong human beings and their power can be seem from afar, as they make sure everyone around notices it. Future Nostalgia is an 'in your face!' kind of song that celebrates being badass and showing it off. (Love you, leo people <3) Virgo - Pretty Please But my mind is running wild // Could you help me slow it down? // Put my mind at ease // Pretty please Virgos are perfectionists by nature. They are critical with others - and take time to trust people, but more than that, they're too critical on themselves. They're always alert, always worried about doing the right thing, and that creates a kind of tension that can be hard for a random person to relieve. In Pretty Please, Dua is asking her lover, the one she truly trusts, to help her wind down, relax, and enjoy the moment. She's begging for that sweet relief that only that intimate person can bring. Don't Start Now is a song that states 'I'm over you, I'm better now, I don't even think about you anymore' - but I'm writing this song for you to make sure you get the message. See? When heartbroken, Libras don't heal by staying home and crying. Instead, they go out into the world to show all their glamour and beauty, 'cause people can't miss on that, you know? Your loss. Saggitarius - Cool You got me, you got me losing all my cool // I guess we're ready for the summer The free spirits of the zodiac! Cool lives up for its name. It's a song about just enjoying the moment with someone, with no regrets, no other worries or thoughts. As fun as they are, Saggitarius people are the masters of just enjoying the present moment, being free and summer-ish. Capricorn - Boys Will Be Boys If you're offended by this song // You're clearly doing something wrong Oh, God, this song hits hard. Here, Dua takes on the responsibility as a world-famous singer to talk openly and even politically about the patriarchy and sexism. Feeling in charge of doing what is right is a very strong trait in Capricorn. They carry heavy wheights on their shoulders, and they feel responsible for speaking the truth that others are afraid to speak. They know what is right and what is wrong, and they won't be quiet. Boys will be boys, but girls will be women. Aquarius - Hallucinate Wrap me round your finger tips // Damn, I need another hit // (Make me lose my mind) Like Saggitarius, Aquarius are free spirits who like to go wild and lose control. They're mental beings, which means their minds are always full of ideas, judgements and thoughts, and maybe that's why they enjoy situations when they can feel their minds getting lost and just explore the sensations that arise. The song is about surrendering your mind, body and soul to the experience of being with someone so intensely it makes you hallucinate, which Aquarius people can relate. Pisces - Levitating I believe that you're for me, I feel it in our energy // I see us written in the stars // We can go wherever, so let's do it now or never Levitating is a song about feeling energetically connected to someone. It's about the stars, the sky, the eterna, the Milky Way and the galaxies, and there's nothing more Pisces than that. Besides, the lines 'If you're feeling like you need a little bit of company // You met me at the perfect time' represent pisces will to please those who are around them and being a good company for whoever crosses their way.
