"An apparently healthy 13-year-old boy from south London has become the youngest UK victim of coronavirus.

Ismail Mohamed Abdulwahab died at Kings College Hospital yesterday morning.

COVID-19 is so infectious that his family could not be close to him as he died.

"Ismail was only 13 years old without any pre-existing health conditions and sadly he died without any family members close by due to the highly infectious nature of COVID-19."

In a statement, Kings College Hospital told Sky News: "Sadly, a 13-year old boy who tested positive for COVID-19 has passed away, and our thoughts and condolences are with the family at this time."

Truly scary... its not just older people dying... it seems to be across all ages. AND it doesn't matter if you have underlying health conditions. Stay home and stay safe :ohno:

Every day I'm hoping things would be getting better but this keeps getting more tragic by the second. So sad.

This is scary, may he rest in peace. I can't imagine how difficult it must be for both him and his family, that he had to die with no family members beside him :(

I've heard while not usually being classed as an underlying health condition, being overweight can make you more likely to die from this.

Not saying this kid was but it could still fit some sort of trend if true.

Although this should not make anyone think about crash dieting, that's bad for your immune system which is ya know important for fighting this.

Unfortunately there are always anomalies, but the vast majority still fits the trend thats been said to us for months and the eldest are still the most at risk, but things like this is why its so important that everyone follows the stay at home orders and things.

Also there seems to be an issue in the UK at the moment that hospitals aren't getting patients in fast enough. My friends mother died because the hospital refused to take her in when she couldn't breathe they said let's see how she is in the morning and if she's still struggling we will bring her in. She died overnight.

The faster they get them on a ventilator the better the odds.

The whole situation is absolutely grim.

A crash diet is never good. If you go on a diet you have to break in gently. Covid 19 is an infection that attacks the lungs, thats why one of the symptoms is shortness of breath. It also effects people with high blood pressure... so while being overweight might not be a direct link, it could be a contributing factor.

People should remain as active as possible, so home work outs or a run outside and just keep the blood flowing and keep moving. Eating the right things as well that will reduce blood pressure naturally, and will give you the best nutrients will help.

But we mustn't get complacent and think because we are young, we are some how invincible... we must do everything no matter what age to protect ourselves from this virus and remain healthy

I don’t even know what to say. I’m so heartbroken by this, and everything around it. What a natural disaster

Poor kid :( RIP.

This is why I don’t understand people that take their children out to crowded places when there’s still a chance they can catch the virus.
