I have an experience on both sides: I'm on a rent, and I will pay next month regularly as always. Meanwhile, I'd expect the tenants that are renting my mother's house to do the same, otherwise I'll drag their ass out of that damn house  since my mom depends on that rent to pay her bills.

Did you forget that alot of those people cant go to work right now because of the corona virus and therefore maybe not have to pet the rent

sorry, this is not how real world works. If you don't have money, you get nothing.

My rental contract says that if I don't pay 1 month, I lose the house. Will they throw me out the next day? Obviously not, but sooner or later they will. And they would be right. it's my problem if I have no money, not theirs.

If there weren't landlords, more people would be living on the streets. 

If people only owned the homes they live in, there would be less opportunity for people to move out and start their adult lives. 

Homes are expensive. Very few young people can buy a home until they're into their thirties. Renting is a great stepping stone, and the housing market is greatly benefited by landlords taking out loans and mortgages to help fill that gap. They take economic risks, and sure sometimes benefit from it, but provide accessible housing in turn.

Everyone is in a bad situation, and it sucks for everyone. 

I'm nor sure though that eviction and throwing people out of their home is the best choice. Maybe there is a better solution.

its difficult for both sides obviously. but i cant believe this is happening  here u cant evict someone right now, banks are ordered by the government to help out any company with interest-free loans. why is the US a 3rd world country in so many aspects omg

i dont believe the landlords are entirely to blame (unless they are wealthy of course). they still need to pay their bills and mortgage and all, but it's not like they gonna find a new tenant for the next few months or so. government needs to step in

This will not end for at least a year...ok.

3 million people just applied for unemployment in the US ( those that were able to get through the website or phones).

Governments will HAVE to step in and forgive these debts. 

If you still HAVE a job ...pay your bills as usualsI

If your government is sending money to citizens, negotiate payments based off that new income.

No one is in a position to pay any one-- or bank or loan company.

The solution has to be on a government level.

In the meantime, this cold-heartedness (from landlords or banks) will cause nothing but more harm.

theyre going to kick them out to the streets which will spike the covid cases even more

i really can't believe some rats here are defending people who want to kick others out of their homes SPECIALLY IN THE MIDDLE OF A PANDEMIC. i don't care who you are, who bred you, whose ass you came out of. you're scum. don't quote me anymore as there's nothing to discuss here.

there should be no landlors, SPECIALLY NO MULTI PROPIERTY OWNERS, no one should make profit out of a basic need such as HOUSING and it should be regulated by the goverment as soon as possible.

You don't know that unless you own rentals. But these landlords are trash though. 

For my rentals I actually waived rent for one month under one condition - they had to buy groceries and medicines to stock up on with the same money the would pay rent with and present me with the receipts. I also dropped the rent by 50% for another three months. So that's four months of help they will get. In that way I'll still be able to pay the bills and make a little something for myself. After these four months that's all I could offer to help my tenants. They agreed because they knew no other landlord would take them atm, give them one month rent free or would drop the rent by 50% for another three months. 

I normally schedule a raise on the rent every four years. The next rent raise is scheduled for 2024 however, once this crisis is taken care of, I'll raise the rent September 2021 in order to make back the money I'll lose this year and continue with my normal 2024 rental raise. 

Some of these landlords are just flat out dumb and have no money management.
