He even lost younger Black voters in several states, and he is usually really strong with young voters. Arguably, he f*cked up even more than Biden when it came to Latino voter outreach. When Barbara Lee of all people refused to endorse him, I figured Bernie has serious issues working well with others....not to mention white as bread, but lefty Jay Inselee. I still voted for Bernie, though, after everything...I think he's a good person with good ideas who is terrible at working with others, bad at management (his campaign people were mostly former Jill Stein supporters), and bad at politics. Honestly, I can' t not stand Biden but I wasn't shocked he won the nomination. Bernie never tried to grow his base beyond 30% and was counting on a contested convention...and that was just crazy. Usually, moderates or progressives drop out and consolidate behind a candidate that best represents their views...

Even Joy Reid (an infamous OBH) admitted that youth turnout was equal if not higher than 2018, which was considered record 18-29 turnout. Young people turn out just as much as boomers at the same age. Millennials and Gen X actually turn out more than Gen Z at the same age. Boomer turnout this primary was simply unprecedented, deflating youth turnout. Bernie has somewhere around 60% of the 18-50 vote.

I hate Trump but undoubtedly he's going to demolish Biden in the general debates, swaying undecided sheeple. Simply put, Biden will not win against Trump. Bernie had a better chance of actually scaring Trump in debates and the general, but that's not gonna happen. You can not negotiate with religious-extremists dictatorships with a terrible human rights record and call it a “win on the global scale” like Obama did with Iran. Either keep out of it (like Bernie suggested), or destroy it at its core (like Trump did). Huh? What did trump do? chaeri pls

In Iran, religious extremists took advantage of an upset lower class and mislead them into a theocratic dictatorship. Seriously, how am I supposed to buy that Bernie could have beat Trump when he can't even beat Biden and Biden is crushing him in several important swing states? I mean, come on, Biden won every county in Michigan. I 'm pretty sure he won the working class (both white and Black voters) and won Black voters in MI, too. And I VOTED for Bernie. I do blame Bernie. I blame him for hiring a bunch of Jill Stein people to run his campaign. I blame him for never trying to go above 30% and counting on a contested convention. I blame him for kneecapping Warren, who was beating him and Biden in the polls for a brief time. If he'd dropped out after his heart attack, a chunk of his voters would have easily gone to Warren AND moderates, who were uneasy with him, were fine with her. I blame him for not truly reaching out to Black voters, and frankly being wildly offensive at times when it comes to Black voters. I blame for basically not reaching out to the CBC. When Barbara Lee, who is even more left than Bernie, didn't endorse him that was VERY telling at how terrible he must be at being diplomatic with other politicians. She also called him out and said he needed to do better with Black politicians and voters...and he obviously ignored Babara. He lost Black voters in SC and VA, the latter an important swing state, by 80/20 margins and 70/20 margins...and instead of going " I'm going to reach out and work even harder for votes "...he instead railed about how it was the "establishment" and how he won the working class. Does he really think all the Black voters who voted for Biden weren't working class? I'm sure many weren't, but many were. I blame him for having his surrogates blame his losses on voter suppression....EVERYONE knows Black southern voters are the ones most impacted by voter suppression...and they voted overwhelmingly for Biden. To me, that was so f*cking delusional. If I hadn't already voted for him, I would have had a really hard time casting a vote for him after that sh*t. Also, he was ambushed on that Castro question...and I knew what he was saying...but how hard would it have been to come up with a more diplomatic answer before the Florida primaries? Sometimes you have to sweet talk and lie to get votes...and we need at least a chance at FL. It's possible to think Biden sucks and that Bernie is a good person with good ideas...but terrible at the act of politics. Usually, moderates or progressives drop out and consolidate behind a candidate that best represents their views... Pretty spot-on analysis about what all went wrong with his campaign. His whole strategy was to try to win with his ~30% support and a divided field, with little to no minority voter outreach efforts. A lot of the points you raised have been discussed in this piece here. At least you're in touch with reality. Good for you. Like you said, good ideas but terrible politics. https://www.nytimes.com/2020/03/21/us/politics/bernie-sanders-democrats-2020.html "I was protected by the monks of Azarath, I was raised by my friends.
