i can see why, after how great revival was, rare felt like a huge step back. imo it's her worst album so far, including when she made teen pop music under the selena gomez and the scene band name.

Albums cycles pretty much end as soon as the album is out nowadays. Not even Drake or Taylor Swift are able to successfully sustain an era past the album release.

Selena's music doesn't feel authentic. And it's not because of her whisper of a voice. Ms. Swift can't sing for her life yet her music is so good and authentic. I think it has to do with Selena not being able to write her own music. When you sing other people's songs, you don't have a connection to it.
