Out of 340k people one child died. Your hearts dont break for the massive amount of kids dying every single day. Why is that when something affects you, only then you decide to care?

The innitial dose u get from a cough, sneeze, or touching something is very very small and whether it's one dose or 10 doses won't matter

 

It's will multiply and ur immune system doesn't go into full battle mode until u carry a certain threshold to trigger a full on response

 

The infection makes u sick because it infects u with something u have no immunity to and will multiply

 

But whether ur innitial infection was 100 virus spores or 10,000 doesn't really matter much

You're more likely to get infected if you talk to a sick person for 15 minutes than if you talk with the person for 15 seconds, but that's not even about the numbers of copies of the virus you're exposed to, simply the odds of a few of them ending up in your mucosas... Definitely won't affect the disease itself at all. Like Maleficent said, the severity of the disease seems to be related with one's immune system.

This is making me so f.ucking mad at the moment. I feel especially let down by people in the gay community still talking about hooking up. It's true tho. Ppl are worried about the virus (rightly so) and whatching the impact and death toll like a hawk

 

The tens of thousands of kids who die daily in Africa from malnutrition on the otherhand is such old news that ppl only think about it when a charity commercial to donate runs on tv asking for ur help

 

Poverty in Africa can be helped just like this virus can be fought too. But again the virus is new news (plus it affects the developed world) so suddenly we care
