This is terrible news.

A child died of coronavirus in what is believed to be the first death of a minor in the United States.

California health officials said the child was from Lancaster, California, about 70 miles north of Los Angeles, according to health officials.

“Tragically, one of the people who died was a person under the age of 18,” Los Angeles County Public Health Director Barbara Ferrer said during a news briefing on Tuesday live streamed on Facebook. “A devastating reminder that COVID-19 infects people of all ages.”

because the US aren't taking any measures unlike those other countries. The more you are exposed to the virus the sicker you get.

It's mutating.

It's only going to get worse.

is that how it works? they literally confirmed the opposite in spanish TV yesterday. any which way, i'm legimately scared for how the US will handle this as it's a global issue. it's useless if the rest of the world goes into quarantine if they just do ****ery. we'll end up paying the consecuences too.

that makes 0 sense, more exposure to the virus does not make symptoms stronger or weaker. the virus multiplies within your own white blood cells, regardless of how many viral bodies entered your body in the first place.

do you have a source? maybe the kid just had pre-existing conditions. maybe the US healthcare system should be considered a pre-existing condition for the whole country.

Potentially the kid had an immunodeficiency decease that could not fight the virus, similar to those of older people?

"The word mutation "naturally conjures fears of unexpected and freakish changes," he wrote. "In reality, mutations are a natural part of the virus life cycle and rarely impact outbreaks dramatically." RNA viruses, or those that have RNA as their main genetic material instead of DNA, including SARS-CoV-2, mutate constantly and do not have the mechanisms to fix these "mistakes," as human cells do, for example.

But most of these mutations negatively affect the virus. If mutations are not beneficial to the virus, they are typically eliminated through natural selection, the mechanism of evolution whereby organisms better adapted to their environment tend to survive. Other mutations survive and get embedded into the "average" genome of a virus."

stop fear mongering and read a scientific journal

Well I'm not sure I'm ready to believe much of any data coming out of China just yet. But you're right,it is crazy.

rates for child obesity, and type 1 diabetes in children, are higher in the US than almost any other country in the world.
