In my opinion, Gaga’s approach to kindness and love is very dated and can come across as forced and cringy to the average listener/fan. It’s almost like (and I have said this before) she was trying too hard to make it digestible for the GP that she ended up making it baby food. She made bolder statements when she was less campy and more ‘serious’ (and that still involved all the high fashion, the rah rahs and the inbetweens). She should leave that KP campy/quirky video vibe to the side and focus on what made her a powerhouse and force in music which is high fashion and dark-pop. When people think Gaga, they think innovation and new, but this felt like she was just casually surfing the waves other pop stars set instead of creating her own whirlpool. It gives people a headache after listening to it several times, especially on headphones. The lyrics are generic and uninspired. People nowadays listen to more chill pop, not talking about whisper pop like Billie or Selena, but like Dua Lipa, Don't Start Now is an example, it's still a bop without being loud and in-your-face vocal, and it has longevity too because it ages like wine, when Stupid Love is the opposite. In addition, the song doesn't have a proper chorus, that chopped up vocal isn't that catchy. The song doesn't click with the GP. When has she not been campy tho? She was super camp from The Fame all the way to ARTPOP, which is when she made her bolder statements. Only C2C and Joanne I wouldn’t consider campy, maybe a little.
