Stock markets are witnessing huge sell-offs as concerns mount the coronavirus crisis will lock down global economic activity for an extended time.

The FTSE 100 has fallen by more than 10% in its worst performance since the financial crash of 1987, as investors reacted to a string of developments including the spread of COVID-19 being officially declared a pandemic and a 30-day ban on flights to the US from most of Europe.

Gaga’s timing...

Um I think people should stop worrying about Gaga's new Era. The entertainment world is not going to stop, people will still be seeking out entertainment and artists will continue to create their art. With the internet, consumption of content is still going to happen. If there is a slow down in engagement Gaga is not the only artist in the world who will be affected so let's stop panicking and let time take its course. Thanks to the internet people will know what to do during this epidemic. Back in 2009 we had the swine flu outbreak and Gaga's career was doing just fine...

If he isn't elected and loses to Biden, prepare for another, more intelligent version of Trump in 2024 when Biden can no longer use the argument "at least I'm not Trump" :nooo:

Technically the 20s were a boom for most of the world, even being nicknamed the Roaring Twenties. The Depression kicked in the 30s, after the Wall Street crash in October 1929.

Although arguably Germany, which had a massive recession in the 20s unlike the rest of the world which was booming, could be seen as the birthplace of the Great Depression, as opposed to Wall Street.

Not to mention 2009 was literally right after the worst economic collapse since 1929

She burst out into the scene in late 2008, literally at the heart of the crisis

I just had to look up that the FTSE was a London stock exchange   (I knew SE was a stock exchange, but had no idea what FT was.)

True, it'll reflect badly on him.

But it's not his fault this time, is it?

If anything, the Trump administration seems to be responding well to the virus.

And economically, isn't the US doing far, far better than it has for at least a decade?
