It’s not being worried about getting the virus, it’s about being worried about HAVING the virus and not knowing it, and then inadvertently passing it onto your elderly grandparents. Think about your loved ones, not just yourself. You don’t have to panic, and I do think about my loved ones. This is why we have plans, but we are not panicking. All panicking is gonna do is lower your immune system due to stress. Calm down, be vigilant, and plan accordingly. That’s literally the advice of all medical PROFESSIONALS so far. It’s not selfish to try to be a voice of reason. You don’t know me, or my family, or what I do outside of this site. But if you did, you’d know both of my parents work in the hospital, my mother is a RT, my sister is severely asthmatic and lives with me. So yes, I have planned accordingly and have medical plans for isolation if needed. And I am STILL not panicking. Because you don’t need to.

She's already 62, a cancer survivor, and just had a scar on one of her lungs last year. What worries me is that she's not retired yet and she's a nurse (and that means she had to face a **** ton of sick people everyday).

Those damn idiots are the ones who likely spread the infection around. People who say don't panic mean don't go bulk buying toilet paper. Also, if you don't have any symptoms and if you didn't travel anywhere in the last couple of weeks there is no reason to go and wait in the hospital to get tested. There is a literal line outside the hospital in my country full of people waiting to be tested. You could literally get infected just by going there. The only ones who should isolate themselves are people who are at risk. Panicking = stressing = weakens immune system I know it is hard not to panic, my anxiety has been through the roof the passed couple of weeks, but no good can come from panicking. Until then, this is Elvira saying unpleasant dreams.

Most people who are spreading the virus don’t display any symptoms. This is why it has been growing exponentially.

Panic is a sign of health. Our bodily hormone adrenaline that kicks in during a panic evolved to allow us to recognise and survive dangerous situations. A pandemic is a dangerous situation. Even if the danger seems invisible, or far away, it is ALWAYS there. I’m not equating panicking with becoming hysterical, by the way. Just saying do what you can WHILE you can, instead of waiting till it’s too late. Yes, that means sacrificing your social life.

As far as I know it can't be cured and I'm pretty sure most symptoms can be dealt with at home. Shouldn't they limit it to severe cases as well as below and above a certain age limit where it's most dangerous? I stocked up on Robitussin and anti fever meds for this exact reason. There are some great articles out there for what to have in stock so if you do get it, and it's not severe, you can treat your symptoms.

They are forbiding protest but let schools and university open, where the **** is the logic?? It's like 35 years ago when they said that the Chernobyl's radioactive cloud stopped at the border, but it was a total lie. France is always late when something like this happen. just like terrorist attacks, when it's too late they do some little useless things. they use the "fiché S" and say they spy on these people and yet they end up doing attacks, and they keep using something that don't work. everything is always slow and ineffective here, it's always about "freedom", someone could say something antisemitic and there would be a debate "but is it freedom of speech?". You can't be so open right now in 2020, close ur damn frontiers, ban some countries from coming, do something drastic, don't be scared of it, it's annoying

And think they're gonna die right away bc of the panic media has created. This should be nothing with today's technology, access to information and prepared health care system around the world. Thing is, we are dumb, we elect dumb people, no country's health system is prepared to this (GHD index) and the media creates chaos. The world economy is at stake. Just bc of our governments inefficiency. This pandemic is testing how prepared the world community is against these kind of threats. And in the meantime our elderly and people at risk are losing their lives or living in fear. another shot before we kiss the other side

Adrenaline is secreted, but it doesn't last long, maybe a couple of hours, depends on a lot of factors. It is great for exam season lol , not so much on the pandemic side. I am doing everything I can to minimize the spread including even not going to uni since ours is still working. Until then, this is Elvira saying unpleasant dreams.
