This country just constantly disappoints me. Sigh.

I guess we really don’t deserve Warren or Bernie. Shame.

Plssss the absolute backlash in this thread against the idea of a Joe nomination...

Well, it makes sense. At least one part of GGD gets it. Eh Eh, there’s nothing else I can say.

Of course I don’t want another Republican term, and I will vote against it, but Bernie’s (and to an extent, Warren’s) policies could have and maybe even would have changed the course of the lives of millions for the better, for years to come. From what I’m gathering, more moderate Dems like Biden feel more like a middle tide of more of the same.

Somehow I feel like this is a big shot in the foot.

Guys don’t worry! Maybe Obama can make some more BTS calls and tell Trump to drop out and align behind Biden again, so the moderates can win all 500+ EC votes and the entire election

I'm not even American but his message has touched my soul. Everyone knows America is THE leading country in the world. Whatever you guys do EVERYONE feels it. Whether it is good or bad. We all suffer because of you or rejoice because of you. The world revolves around your policies so please vote responsibly as much as you can and though America should always be your #1 priority please do think of all of us from smaller countries around the world and how your president will impact us too.

please don't flatter them too much. it's hard to be the "leading country" of the world when you see universal healthcare as a radical idea. america had it's glory days a few decades back but everyone knows they have been on a decline. it's 2020 and keeping a status quo built in the early 2000's isn't going to cut it.

why is it that people like biden only started supporting marriage equality and lgbt issues when it became popular to do so ... bernie has been fighting for these same issues since the 90's. biden only supported desegregation when people finally had enough. history will truly remember bernie sanders as a man who was ahead of his time, mark my words. y'all could have had a bad ass president but i guess it's trump 2020 !!

It's coming sooner rather than later.

Not here to be bitchy, but we made the wrong choice, and let's just hope we don't pay grievously for it.

Bernie is an inspiration and has done so much in shaping politics today. His policies would've changed Americans lives for the better all across the board. I guess we didn't deserve him, though :ohno:

Well, f*ck. This movement will win, of that I am confident. It saddens me that it doesn't look like Bernie will be the vehicle of change for our movement, but I remain optimistic because I don't know how else to grapple with this moment. The establishment has won this battle. Let's win the war.

Yes, Obama forced Bernie to not do one event in MS, to cancel a Bloody Sunday event to go do a CA rally, to not reach out to the CBC (which people from his own campaign were frustrated about according to numerous reporters), to rail about the "establishment" and "rigging" after being trounced in SC instead of saying "we may have lost, but we're going to work even harder to earn your vote," and to lose Black voters (all Black voters, not just those over 40) in MICHIGAN, not even the South, by nearly 40 PERCENT!!!!

Warren is apparently a "snake" for not dropping out earlier and endorsing Bernie because it would be good for the progressive cause, but the moderates aligning behind Bernie was "rigged." And Bernie's high level campaign staff liking anti-Warren tweets and going on Chapo, which made some insanely sexist remarks about Warren, is a-okay!

Guys....I voted for Bernie (I wanted to vote for Warren). But come the f*ck on. He's a good person but his campaign royally f*cked up in numerous ways.Like his campaign in 2020 was almost as bad as Clinton's 2016 campaign despite them being on different ideological sides. Losing Black voters by huge margins even in the Midwest, and not just the South, is a big a*s flashing warning sign.

Honestly, it'd be smart for him to drop out now since he has no chance when you look at the future states coming up. He can get serious concessions out of Biden if he drops out right now: Warren for Treasury, Inslee for EPA, and maybe Barbara Lee, Tammy Baldwin, or Gwen Moore for VP. Also, he can argue for a progressive, or at least a center-left person, for commerce and tell Biden to give Bloomberg some cushy ambassador position or ambassador to the UN instead. Being able to make sure that at least 3 progressives, maybe 4, have high ranking cabinet positions, and blocking Bloomberg from any sort of business/money position, would be a major win. Plus, Biden's already said 2 year colleges, even textbooks, will be completely free for everyone. He may not get all free college out of Biden, but  Bernie can push  him to make all trade and maybe even certain degrees/certifications like paramedics, nursing. and teaching free (that was Jealous's plan when he ran for Governor).

Also, the DNC spends tens of millions of dollars on the primary and the RNC still has way more money. It will save $$$ for the future fight if the primary ends now.

TLDR: I think Bernie is smart enough, and caring enough, to realize he can get a lot of **** out of Biden rn if he drops out, and that an extended, dirty campaign when he has no chance, is just going to make it harder to beat Trump in the general.
