Unfortunately no, its impossible to patrol streets. Basically what i got frm today is that if you have normal police stop you need permission, lets say for work. My boy takes highway for verona and tells me no one is controlling. 

You may get out. Restaurants are closed after 18h but theres delicery possible also for supermakets. You have a limit of people that can enter and should maintain some distance. 

Tho honestly ill waste 2h tomorrow understanding if its still everything like today, cause the document is very short

If we move fast, if the right precautions are taken, if we get lucky with the treatments that are close to being confirmed, if the virus slows down with warm weather as many predict, and if everyone takes their own precautions like washing hands/not touching your face/avoid crowds, etc. We'll forget it by the end of the year and the death toll will stay low, probably similar to the H1N1 flu.

If we fail to slow its spread, if the treatments fail, if hospitals get overcrowded, if the weather doesnt affect the virus, etc, things can become very grim.

Just do your part, listen to experts, avoid fake news and fearmongering, and take your personal precautions, and you should be fine.

That and could they have a stronger outbreak of the stronger strain?

 

Since one strain going around is worse than the other, presumably which ever one outbreaks stronger in a nation will also impact it's death rate

Don't think so, because the rest of Europe got the virus from northern Italy (coincidentally, we had pre-spring holidays for a week when it was spreading) and it's not been as deadly in the rest of Europe. There's probably Italy-specific reasons for this.

I'm trying to stay calm. I'm not from Italy, but there's already one recorded case of COVID19 at a street that's like 20 meters away from us. Wash your hands and stay at home. Wear facial masks when going out. Try not to touch your faces as much as possible.

That it is not true. There was a case in Jenuary in Germany that went undercover. Italy just did control more and was unfortunate.

however Italian culture may be a thing that helped its spreading: we hug, we have a close relationship with our grandparents, the population is quite old etc

Patient 1 was a German man visiting Italy or something like that. Plus, Asian communities (the first cases) in Italy are quite big, though they remarkably locked themselves at home once the virus began to spread. The "Italian reason" is that many citizens underestimated the spreading rate of the virus, and continued to avoid quarantines and specific safety measures until like yesterday. Now we are in lockdown because of that

I'm not denying that the first patient was in Germany, what I'm saying is that, if Italy had a virus mutation that was more deathly than the 'normal' virus from China, that same mutation would also have been in for example the Netherlands (all our cases can be traced back to Italy), leading to a similar high death rate in the Netherlands, which is not the case. I'm also not trying to say that there's anything specific to Italy that led to a high amount of number infected, I think that Italy is very similar to the rest of Europe when it comes to (initial) stubbornness about the virus. What I'm getting at is the relatively high death rate in Italy, which I argued cannot have been caused by a mutation in the virus.

For the moment no every event are cancelled till April 15 but if the virus is getting worse there's big chance yes our president is ready to do everything even lock our country later if this is needed we will see
