Arturo 40,746
I really hated when people say everything on radio/everything that's popular is crap. Now I kind of agree....... So underwhelming :(

So underwhelming :( And it's not like everything is terrible, either. It's just that a lot of trends have been milked dry by now. I change the channel every time a Home or Hey Ho sounding song comes on haha. Good songs, just way overdone by this point.

heavymlover 340
I think it's a nice change from the incredibly long dance trend. 4 years with the same sound is enough imo. Yeah, it's true that we haven't had many interesting songs lately, but at least is good to have a change.
Mills 446
Taylor Swift scores her 58th HOT 100 entry as Highway Don't Care with Tim McGraw, a track from McGraw's 12th studio album, arrives at #59. This edges Taylor further as the 2nd female artist with most entries in the HOT 100 chart, only behind the legendary Aretha Franklin. Other icons Madonna and Dionne Warwick are both in third. Nicki Minaj and Rihanna, who just tied with Barba Streisand as Stay enters the HOT 100 chart, aren't far either. So anyway, congratulations to Taylor Swift.

Honestly, everything in music is just safe right now. Apart from S&T and the alternative wave that's slowly coming. I'd like some diversity.
Mills 446
:jono: Well at least the S&S remix video this week is getting more views than the music video of the comeback single of her ex who cried a river. That's a great news to look at for the Britney Army. And in addition to that, S&S is still in the top 10 of iTunes. Overall, it's all good news for most of the fanbases. Gaga seems okay. Rihanna has another top ten hit in her hands next week and just launched her fashion collection this week. Taylor Swift just added a HOT 100 entry. Britney is still a powerhouse. Justin Timberlake and Bruno Mars are both selling well. Everybody seems doing quite well. It's a celebration.

Apart from S&T and the alternative wave that's slowly coming. I'd like some diversity. I view the alternative wave as safe, too. There isn't anything too risking about releasing a classic alternative song, especially if it has that modern Mumford and Sons twist to it. Even so dance music has been gaining traction and there's been a lot of it lately, it still seams to be the much riskier yet still realistic option compared to this indie/soft rock/alternative revival. We've yet to have a single flat out electronic song doing well on the charts. The stuff the radio plays and that people enjoy are the compromised hybrid electronic music. There's still a lot of ground that I hope is made in the genre yet.

I'd like some diversity. Agreed. Still waiting for Beyonce to drop her new music material. I wonder how her new album would sound like - if it would be different from the majority of what's in radio at the moment. Otherwise, we'd have TS and HS in a tug of war for weeks to come. :reno:

Ozzy8923 9
I still think dance music has yet to reach its full potential. I mean, everyone is saying that the GP is tired of dance and just look at S&S. You can't get much more dance than that. It just crossed 2M here and will likely see 3M in the upcoming months. And, who knows, even 4M. I don't rule out that possibility. It's also about to reach the Top 5 on iTunes again! 6 will.i.am - Scream & Shout (feat. Tommymonster44 0
Would you say that WFL isn't a straight electric song? I would say so. Of course genres are often subjective. I just really am hoping that someday we can hear really great electronic songs like the one below, but that probably won't happen. Hybrids will always rule the charts. Hybrids will always rule the charts. I'm still waiting for that day when deadmau5 would be fully embraced by the mainstream in a similar way David Guetta and Calvin Harris successfully did. His records, FML, I Remember, Raise Your Weapon among others are just incredibly good. It'd be an ultimate dream come true if he'd collaborate with the artists like Gaga sometime in the future. Personally, I regard him as the best out there right now who has not yet maximize his true potential as a producer and as a musician.
