Hunter's face ripped off by deer he was trying to kill during shooting trip

An escaping deer turned the tables on this hunter when it tore a huge flap of skin from his face as it collided with him while trying to escape.

Vincent Saubion, 36, was struck in the face by a 150-kilogramme (330lb) deer in a forest in Lesperon, Landes, France, while he was hunting.

Saubion said: "It felt like I was drunk, but it actually took half my face off."

In the end, a helicopter had to fly to the forested region to airlift him to the Pellegrin Hospital in Bordeaux where he underwent emergency surgery, according to local reports.

It has been claimed that Saubion required around 50 stitches to his face. He explained: "I am grateful because there was more fear than actual harm. I haven't broken anything and I feel as good as I can be."

Despite the incident, which took place in January but which has only been made public now, Saubion has vowed to keep on hunting.

The irony is that some of y’all live lives that indirectly support the slaughtering and hunting of animals whether that be from the foods you purchase, the clothes you wear, etc.  So going on here and bashing this guy saying he’s getting what he deserves by having his face mutilated is so hypocritical.   I do think it’s pretty stupid that he’s going back out to hunt though, you’d think something like this would knock some common sense in his head like “maybe I shouldn’t directly hunt deer that can easily kill me”.
