Although he has changed his positions on certain topics, just like every other living person in the planet, there is proof that he actually cares about minorities and lower income families. That's true, but that's the case for all of them, it's all strategic and planned. But still, that makes it hard to really trust any candidate then. I'm not American nor do I follow american politics closely, but from what I've seen on Twitter, Bernie has been consistent his whole career with the things he said, which is good. But there's nothing to even "dig up" about Bernie. He wasn't saying he's against gay marriage, he was just saying that he thought states must respect laws that are made in other states.
