Red Velvet 10,988
I'm going to be honest, 1989 was the epitome of modern pop, and it had one of the best single choices. 1st, we go to Shake It Off, after the country masterpiece which was Red, Shake it Off brought a whole new image of Taylor Swift anyone has ever seen which was the persona of Taylor Swift as a popstar. The song was a palate cleanser and became arguably one of her biggest singles to date. 2nd, we go to Blank Space, after Shake It Off, they wanted her to be BIGGER and she made a HIT, using one of the most influential songs in modern pop. 3rd, we go slower with Style, it alone became one of her more known songs and it is a BOP and the best song in 1989. 4th, Wildest Dreams. Wildest Dreams is honestly one of the most radio friendly hits right here, so it was largely successful. 5th, Out of the Woods, it was successful due to its big connotations with her ex, Harry but enough about that, the video was also highly viewed 6th, Bad Blood, IT WAS BIG BIG, like the music video beat the 24 hrs record. Bad Blood was a QUEEN. Even though critically panned, it was so commercially successful, and ugh don't get me started with the posters. 7th, New Romantics, she didn't promote it, but it did well, considering it even charted top 40. So there's my opinions. Although, justice for Welcome To New York not being a single. I'm like some kind of supernova

ADVENTURE 856
Agreed! While I do think shake it off is pretty cheesy compared to the others, Blank Space is such a perfect pop song. Made up for it lol.

DC 25,164
BEST single choices ever! Blank Space was popular around Christmas time and I have fun memories playing FNAF on my tablet on the bus with my friends and that came on the radio, I loved it Then Style was popular towards the end of the school year and I remember it would make me super happy hearing it on the radio and it was all summery and stuff, still playing FNAF on my tablet... I STILL play FNAF I always associate songs with seasons depending on how they sound, so Blank Space, Wonderland, Pumped Up Kicks by Foster The People, Cool Kids by Echo Smith, and Only The Young ALL sound like "Winter" to me. Style, How You Get The Girl, 22, Part Of Me by Katy Perry, and Wildest Dreams reminds me of "Summer." It's cool
