ADVENTURE 856
In the US it is very common for people of all ages to not get proper treatment from illness and continue to go to school and work regardless. It’s very looked down upon to miss work or school due to pretty much anything. I was in the hospital for a week last year and was fired for it. Luckily I hated the job so had no desire to fight them on it.
Ziggy 14,141
Sort of. I'd say yes, but it is definitely higher than we know because in order to get a test kit you need to prove that you could have got it by being around someone with it...who would also need to know so you get where this cycle is a little silly lol It absolutely will lead to under-reporting. Stanley Digaga 975
I do think those numbers are real for the US, it's just that the virus didn't spread that much on the whole American continent. Also, the first case in the US were reported later so maybe they had time to be more prepared And why would they under report the number of cases ? It may appear has a strenght at first (like "we were able to stop the virus etc...") but if it end up being revealed it will have a very bad impact on the government, espcially with the upcoming presidential election. AmericanxDream 2,049
Nope. Thankfully our wonderful president has actually taken action to prevent infected people from entering the country, so the virus isn't spreading as fast as it is in Europe. This is where Europe's open door policy comes back to bite.

Could be a number of different factors #1 maybe the weaker strain is the one that mostly spread there #2 they have easily available healthcare and that always helps #3 I don't know if this is the case but where did the big outbreaks happen? Did any of them happen in schools or colleges? Cuz very few young people die as it is even from the worse strain

Chromatic Lover 868
Times like this make me appreciate my little unknown third world country with free healthcare. We would literally eat our government alive if they hid things like this from us.
Alannah 2,988
Our HQ in Seattle, WA is officially closed as of Wednesday, all offices across the country following as of yesterday. It's definitely being underplayed, especially when the virus is growing in numbers and two strains being discovered.
