Chromaticunt 5,529 Posted March 1, 2020 Share Posted March 1, 2020 I'm getting the strong impression that we won't get much in the way of TV performances, interviews, chat-show skits, or even general appearances in public this era. I know we're only a few days into the era, but usually we would have been bombarded with content and looks by now. But so far we've had one radio interview and a 10-second video she recorded herself. She's at a point in her career now where she doesn't need to hustle, because like Beyonce she has made a big name for herself and can rely on the music alone. I HOPE I'm wrong because it's so fun to watch all the PR stuff, but I just get the feeling we won't be getting it this time around. I'm not trying to be a downer, just being realistic. Bradley 59,163 Posted March 1, 2020 Share Posted March 1, 2020 It's a very Beyonce-approach for sure but let's remember that when you guys were criticising her to the pits of hell for not changing up Enigma, she's actually secretly doing lots of work including shooting music videos, doing photoshoots, attending meetings, planning release dates, doing finishing touches on the album, negotiating contracts with Interscope and partnering companies, possibly even planning tour dates, and of course learning the choreo to all the songs. I'm quite happy for her to ease up on the promo if it means she's healthier and happier and can work more on things behind the scenes. I'd love some TV performances this era but tbh I'll be happy just to have the album so I don't mind if she chooses not to do much PR this time around. She didn't release Joanne in the middle of a touring commitment and ASIB filming didn't start until the year after. She got to pace things out for herself and got a few months to focus on Joanne. It won't be like Joanne but she'll do promo and serve looks. A lot more of it will be invisible promo (payola/ads) but we'll definitely see interviews and performances because they tend to do wonders for her.
