The amount of “Little Haters” that exist on this site breaks my heart. Reminds me of why I never joined in the first place until Enigma. I understand right to opinion, but damn, as if we individuals could do better? Because if we could; we’d be up on that screen.

I will support anything and everything this woman does, because her existence has done so much for me. I’m so proud of her. There is so much more to come from this album and the video had me dancing out of my seat!

Time flies like the wind. Fruit flies like bananas.

This is amazing.  The word "stupid" is such a revealing theme. I hope everyone gets it... I think I do.

The space theme, the outfits, some of the dance moves (which actually slay) -- They're all kind of objectively stupid. But they're stupid in a way that is magnificently intentional, fun, and playful, and catchy.

I feel like Gaga felt/feels a lot of pressure from her fans to be the person she used to be in 2008-2010, especially after CTC, Joanne and a Star is born. She feels pressure to be a person that 2020 Gaga probably feels a bit "stupid" to try and be.

I feel like this video is kind of an expression to her fans that she's definitely annoyed by those who won't let go of the past, but she also loves all of her fans so much.. so of course she's going to serve them and give them what they want, but in a way that kind of trolls us all because she is in a totally different place.

If I were to hypothesize, stupid love is an acknowledgement and embrace of her past in a way that displays her true thoughts about returning to it. She's not going back to who she was, because it would be stupid. So instead, she is being stupid in a fun, love-able way that anyone can enjoy & get down with. She must feel a bit dumb doing these antics for  her crazed monsters, but she will; because she wants their stupid love.

This set such a fun, care-free tone to open the era. It's not competitive, it's not concerned, it doesn't even warrant criticism to be honest. Despite all that, this is going to succeed, no doubt. And it's because it's coming from such a genuine place.

I know she doesn't need to prove anything anymore because she's Lady Gaga, and I'm actually happy that she's back in the pop scene... But I personally think she should have just focused more on acting in films and eventually producing films. That's called growing. Going back to pop with a song so basic  just doesn't look pretty at all. This isn't at par with the things she put out before (Fame, FM, BTW) and it feels like a step back. I love Gaga ,but with this I don't think she can "save pop" the way she did before.

After watching the video again, I think it looks cheap and tacky mainly because of all of the back-up dancers and how they are dressed. I think the video would have been great if it was just her cat-walking (ala ‘I want your love’ video) and dancing alone and maybe a few back up dancers at the end. The coreo could have also been simpler to fit Gaga’s skill. I think the raw material is there, but it wasn’t executed properly. They could have also included some Power Ranger type of monsters that she would have to ‘fight’ by dancing in front of them and sending them love or something like that. With these changed it would have been iconic.

Just think what would happen if this MV was from Katy Perry .

Think it carefully.

I'd still like it. I actually really do love a lot of Katy Perry music videos.

Yeah, that was majorly disappointing.

Like Enigma, the looks are more costume then fashion, and the narrative is so thin it could stand in the rain and not get wet. Like Haus Labs, she is clunkily attempting to use a woke message to add depth to a project that is more commercial then compelling.

I love her, but it seems like she is floundering creatively and is unsure of how to evolve her shtick.

I'm glad people here seem to enjoy it, though I'd venture to guess if another pop star released a music video of this quality, most people on this forum would not have positive things to say.

I mean... the storyline is probably going to continue, we'll see. But it looks like a videogame theme where each video will continue.

About that woke message to add depth to a project that's more commercial... she just stated on an interview that her only goal is to make music that is appealing WW and will be part of people's lives just to make people happy and have fun. Like, she literally said there's no deep concept this time. So stop putting things on her that are on your mind because NO WHERE she has added any depth to this.

And while I love me some long form videos (BTW and MTN are god-tier), I think having it as a simple, isolated video that connects a narrative through other isolated videos is a smarter promotional move. Easier to access, consume, and play at various gay clubs lmao

And on the note of first singles: usually, her first singles have some sort of risk (as said by Gaga herself during Joanne). This time around, I think the risk is... well, the fact that it's pure pop itself. Regarding the current state of radio (which I don't hate, mind you), pure electronic pop isn't exactly in right now. So there we have it.

It's one of her safer releases, but I honestly don't mind. It doesn't really diminish anything.

3 points in and ready for more
