And to then defend their actions because it's their "right" to be upset

That's literally like KKK members saying that they should have a right to be racist because it's their "right" to express their "opinion".

And before anyone cancels me, no, I'm not directly comparing the KKK to Little Monsters  I'm just saying, using the argument that "it's my right" to defend my hatred is so dumb.

Some people think having the first amendment means you can be an a**hole... I mean you can, but don't expect your words to not have consequences.  That just means the government can't arrest you (over simplifying but you get it).

That's COMPLETELY taking sales/money out the equation.  Even if money wasn't an issue, the era still wouldn't get it's full potential.  It's more than just the 16 tracks.

 

 

Necessity is the mother of invention. With traditional promotional options out of the way it would have been a great opportunity for her to promote the album in more creative ways.

She could partner with Philip Treacy for a series of instructional sewing videos which teach the public how to make masks for nurses effected by a shortage in medical supplies. Call it Mascs For Masks, and have the whole gay community helping doctors and nurses while dancing to her bops.

She could call The Getty and ask if she can go in there alone and live stream a tour of their exhibits, talking about the value of art. She could go to her warehouse full of old costumes, put some on, and do a one woman show for youtube. She could conduct a series of super short interviews with her peers for Tik Tok.

This is the girl who slept in a giant perfume bottle and live streamed it to promote her new fragrance. She used FarmVille to promote Born This Way. She walked naked in the wood to promote ARTPOP.

I understand the financial reasons why the album was delayed, but the "she wouldn't be able to promote it the way she wants to" argument I don't agree with. Give a creative person limitations and watch them forge new paths.

She's not going to scrap the entire album. It's just getting pushed back. She might change ideas, but the core of the album will still be there. Besides, she's already promoted it. She can't just change everything and move in a completely different direction.

I appreciate your creativity, but the album was supposed to be released less than 3 weeks now.  There's no way you can plan a whole promotion set-up in less than three weeks, nevermind in the middle of a pandemic.  I'm not against it if she does it for the next album tho.  You're also comparing her already promotion methods where she had a lot more time planned ahead + didn't have a virus pandemic happening.

Oh of course it's because of the virus, lol. 

But there are reasons why, because of the virus, the album had to be delayed - and one of those reasons is because the creative direction for this album is not compatible anymore with where the world is at. 

Of course other reasons around promo, supply and self-isolation also make it impossible. But it's a combination. 

Some releases can go ahead during the virus, and others cant. There are reasons for that beyond just the obvious.
