I only get harassed from Kamala people - yes, they still exist - and Pete people. And lowkey Yang people (but many of them are libertarians and conservatives so I dont care  )

I could easily @ several members whose sole purpose in existing on this part of GGD is to antagonize Bernie and his supporters, because if anything, Pete's fan base does seem to have a higher percentage of people who are very antagonistic and less informed than most candidates right?   But there isnt a convenient media narrative for me to bury my accusation in, so it probably doesn't hold up to most people's minds. It doesn't make it not true, there are literal trolls and bullies on here who just post to try to get at Bernie people, and not even necessarily because any of us did anything to them first  Some of them even like Bernie, but just hate anyone who supports him because of some personal grievance with someone.

 

(That would be a terrible thing to extrapolate from regardless of whether its my experience or not, so I have not come up with a moniker to beat them over the head with because thats a shitty and unfair thing to do. I don't remember ever calling Pete supporters themselves corporatists or neoliberals, but these aren't monikers made to harass or stereotype about people, nor to erase people's identities (Bernie Bro specifically implies white, young, male, angry etc.) Neoliberal is just a political ideology or way of thinking. A slur is not a label.

I have referred to his policies as such, because they are. Pete's policies are in line with neoliberalism. He is a neoliberal, or at least endorses neoliberal politics.

It's the same thing as if I said Bernie's policies are progressive or part of economic populism or social democracy. Like, we might as well be arguing over whether pointing out that someone is a "Republican" or a "Democrat" is an insult. It isn't. Whether anyone has positive or negative feelings about the people who use those labels is another matter.

Im really glad he said that, and I hope that that little but loud section of his fanbase listen to him, as they are damaging him when they think theyre helping. And its something that trump/republicans will exploit through bots.

Good move by Bernie. They were out of line. 

It wont stop everyone, but it could help. Maybe the wiser, more experienced supporters will try to keep some of the more erratic supporters in check.

No because I cringe at being called a Bernie Bro. I’m not angry and I’m not white. I don’t go around harassing people if they don’t support him or follow him. And I have no intention of voting for a Green Party candidate or throwing my morals out the window and voting for Trump to stick it to anyone. 

Bernie was my guy back in 2015/2016. He lost, but I still backed Hillary because it meant one less person backing Trump.

It’s demoralizing seeing all the countless threads and posts on here constantly generalizing someone such as myself into the same group as the rowdy supporters responsible for such bad publicity. All it results in is people feeling like these topics are just poking the bear and one of these days, someone is going to say something they’ll regret and it’s going to get ugly. It’s already gotten ugly on here over the last few weeks courtesy of the same handful of users that find excitement in trolling and stirring the pot.

Neoliberalism is the reason Donald Trump is president right now, so I do think its bad. "Neoliberalism is a disease" - insult to the ideology, yes.

The part that makes me not trust Pete is that he is smart enough to know its a problem...

But he is running on a neoliberal platform anyway... its disingenuous at best, opportunistic at worst. His personal career trajectory seems to lend itself towards the latter interpretation.

But me calling his policies neoliberal is not the same as making a racist and sexist generalization about people's identities
