It’s a term that white washes his base and ignores the women supporters he had at the time. Currently his base is the most diverse out of the other candidates and he has more women supporters than men supporters. Therefore continuing to use this term is both racist and sexist to his mostly POC and women base of support. As you can see in this thread, there are people that don’t care about these facts and continue to use Bernie Bro to troll his supporters. It is both hilarious and sad to see. The term “Bernie Bro” was created and is used to paint ALL Bernie Sanders supporters as sexist, racist, white men. This term erases everyone else who supports him. Centrists continue to use this term to say that Bernie’s base is only composed of white men with sexist and racist tendencies.
