geusst1235 5,398
Honestly Gaga is entitled to put out whatever she feels like making, pop included. Besides I wouldn't say that shes just a popstar, she is an all encompassing artist that can do or be whatever she wants. If she truly wanted to stop making albums within the pop realm (which is a very, VERY wide range of genres that includes Joanne), odds are she probably would. Gaga's love for pop music and creating extravagant performance pieces is still strong so I doubt that's going to change anytime soon. She even said this in the Nikki collab, "There will be tons of crazy things that I do over the next decade. I just don't know exactly what they are, which is why they will be extra crazy." Emerald 414
The only music she's done without a hint of pop is CTC, I really doubt she wants to quit doing pop music. 𝐢 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐭
Killa 17,464
I dont think she was particulary vulnerable in joanne, at all. The thing is that she is very pop, she has that tendency. Like shes no punk rock or metal or rnb, not jazz as well sorry. Shes very much pop. More traditional tho. And sorry but is there no in between?? Is it either enigma or big band? Absolutely not
TheAlexer 1,343
Why are so many people here acting like pop music is always cheap, shallow and insincere Isn't this here a Lady Gaga forum What happened to "Pop music will never be low brow" I can't with Little Joannsters and Allygators
Fresco 1,688
I like the big visual shows. This is a big part of why I never go to see country music shows. Because those shows are just the performer standing in one spot and sometimes walking back and forth, with sound quality and acoustics much worse than a studio album. The only point for me, of going to a show, vs. listening to an album at home is the visuals. But if she really wants to focus on audio only, she needs to do lots of shows in small theatres with great acoustics. Acoustics range from bad to horrible in huge stadiums. The pop arena shows that I have seen still sounded good and had big visuals, a good compromise. I would not want to tell her which genre to perform in next. I like 80's rock, and all of her pop albums. C2C was perhaps my least favorite (I don't enjoy blaring brass, tbh)

BossBiatch 20
Yeah you're right about her being her best releasing what she feels like around the time. I hope she's making what she wants. I think we as a fan base loved her previous work so much that the longing of those times leaves us petrified and in denial when we listen to a new genre song of hers -other than dance pop unlike SL-for the first time. (At least this is how it feels for me) Especially after ARTPOP era, she is experimenting more increasingly at each era and the good news is she hasn't f***ed up yet. She will probably go for another subgenre of pop music this time, maybe hip hop influenced or maybe disco influenced but it will surely be great. BUT THE REAL PROBLEM IS WAITING. We are so so so thirsty for a new song, every one freaked out after the leak. And as a fan I'm happy that she does her best.

yxi 4,999
Enigma and Stupid Love feels so forced. It's like she hasn't evolved at all and just want to please the old stans by putting cringy subpar pop stuff. You can tell she is not into it and is like cosplaying the old Gaga.
