The way Elizabeth Warren tried to get on Joe Rogan’s podcast and wanted his endorsement so bad... it’s just so funny to me

Ikr. Especially knowing all the centrists here made an attempt to drag Bernie over him getting it and the fact Joe Rogan confirmed all the candidates have tried to get on his show.

Yet there's crickets over all that except when Bernie is involved :poot:

The hypocrisy and double standards for Bernie jumped out!

Just a quick fact-check on @ItsTommyBitch: Third Way is quite literally a Democratic  think tank that works to elect Democrats and enact Democratic policies. It's just that those Democrats are moderates and not far-left nearly-Socialists.

I understand that there are GGD users who cannot comprehend that you can be a Democrat without supporting Bernie Sanders - nay, you MUST be conservative if you don't - but that's really, truly, not how the world works.

So let's keep things factual and not go off our own "hunches," yeah?

Where did I say "Republican" or "Not Democratic"?

Third Way is literally a center-right organization, based off of the political ideology, also called "Third Way" which embraces center-right policies, centrist economics (favoring more traditionally right wing market control, advocating for less welfare and social safety net, deregulation,  etc.) and a sprinkling of center-left social beliefs. It has a long tradition globally as being a center-right position, even as it is embraced by what we would call "moderate Democrats"

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Third_Way#United_States

The rest of this quote is pure projection, as I did not accuse anyone of anything, only pointed out that this ideology (or rather, this organization) has a long history of anti-progressive sentiment and is incredibly well funded and connected in politics going back decades. It seems more like you just have an issue with anyone pointing out anything, no matter how factual, that goes against what you believe or who you support, which is entirely your prerogative, but leave me out of it please.

I'm not trying to be elitist or arrogant or w.e, but some terms and words literally do have specific meanings beyond our colloquial understanding of them, such as "Conservative", "Liberal" "Left" "Right" "Center" etc. and while they are applied differently in terms of specific political parties (such as "Democratic" and "Republican") they do fit somewhat cleanly on a global political spectrum. I've said it before, but many Democrats are literally center right. This doesn't make them Republicans, but it does mean they actually do share many core values or beliefs about the economy, the role of government, etc. (The big difference tends to be social policy) Democrats are Democrats by virtue of registering for the party and following their agenda, platform, etc.

And for the last time - Bernie Sanders is not a far-leftist. He is center-left on most issues at best. To the point that he identifies as a "democratic socialist", its actually telling that even his most "socialist" policy that most people know of, Medicare For All, is not a socialist policy. Even Pete Buttigieg recognized this back when he supported it before he flipped.

It is an example of social democracy, which is compatible with a highly regulated form of capitalism. A truly socialized version of this would be the NHS, in which the "means of production" of healthcare is owned by the government (doctors are literal government employees - under M4A Doctors and Hospitals would still be privatized).

President Barack Obama: Don't boo; vote.

Partisan Hack Rashida Tlaib: BOOOOOOOOO

More brilliance from our favorite freshman who simply can't help herself. Remember, this is the same person who completely sank our ability to remove Trump from office by politicizing the impeachment process a full year before it began. "Impeach the motherf*cker?" Thanks Rashida! That'll be all.

What? :deadbanana: There is no nonpolitical way to impeach a president, and public opinion on an issue like that is bound to be contentious no matter the decorum of individual members of Congress. Why aren't you blaming Maxine Waters for calling for his impeachment? Were we supposed to believe that the "Lock Her Up" party cares about cusswords in 2020? That was clearly feigned offense aimed at one of the first two Muslim Congresswomen in America :rip:

Also, its absolutely naive to believe that if Dems hadn't tried to discuss impeaching the president b4 now, that Republicans would have seen it in their hearts to remove Trump. The only chance for that pretty much died when they decided to only impeach him on the most narrow of crimes, and even then I still doubt he would have been removed, even if we had gotten 1 Republican vote towards or something.

To reiterate, I don't think she should have done it just for the media circus over it, but there are plenty of fair, non sexist ( :rip: ) reasons to dislike Hillary Clinton. Most recent being that she, despite knowing how important Unity is in defeating Trump, is repeatedly attacking one of the frontrunners for the nomination who has an incredibly dedicated following of millions of multi-racial working class people, so she might as well be flipping off a sizeable chunk of the electorate... But no, to hold her accountable for that would be wrong, right? If you're really afraid of "Bernie or Bust 2.0" or whatever, then why the hell are you going out of your way to try to ensure it happens again. People listen to this stuff, they hold grudges, they remember.

If you want to make the argument that shes a grown woman and can do what she wants, no ones disputing that. Only calling it unwise, contradictory, and seemingly vindictive.

Right now, in real time Republicans are embracing proto-dictatorship legal arguments as  Democrats re trying to rig their own primary, allowing themselves to be bought to change rules to favor the wealthy, and more. We've got much bigger fish to fry than a false sense of civility.

"They go low we go high" might help some people get out of bed at how terrible our politics are, but we aren't going to solve it without some kind of fight, and there is so much more on the line than having people pretend to care about things that don't affect anything.

Just a quick fact-check on @ItsTommyBitch: Third Way is quite literally a neoliberal  think tank that works to elect neoliberals and enact neoliberal policies. It's just that those Democrats are neoliberals and not progressives.

Fixed

Btw, neoliberalism endorses and pushes for deregulation, hallowing out the social safety net, and the privatization of essentially everything. Which are the same things Republicans desire and push for.

In this way, mainstream establishment Democrats are really just neoliberals and thus in most ways are no different than Republicans since they support and push for the same kinds of center-right economic policies. Where they do differ from Republicans is on social issues, supporting more center-left policies on these things.

But at the end of the day, economic policies are fundamentally what drive and reproduce inequalities and inequity since they shape how wealth and power are distributed and maintained within certain groups of people.

To really make things better or help this country, it's the economic policies that need to be changed to make things fairer and more equal. Until that happens nothing is going to change, just as it hasn't for the last 30 years.

Unfortunately, most establishment Democrats are not going to push for the necessary changes since fundamentally they support a neoliberal ideology that is antithetical to those kinds of economic policies that will raise people up.

There was a survey showing that, among the dem' candidates bases, the sanders base was clearly not the most likely to end up voting Trump so I don't know why folks keep pushing for this "sanders voters will help Trump in the end" fear when it's rather a problem with other candidates.

Bernie "bros" that are made of more women than men lol?

Can we frame this on a wall so people understand why people are not being rude or attacking democrats by pointing this out? Or, even when people do get passionate, overzealous, etc. people can understand that it isn't just a baseless claim.

If you're a Democrat and you are okay with the idea of cutting things like social security & welfare, deregulation, increased military spending, military intervention and imperialism, etc. these are ideas that are shared by Republicans as well, and we shouldn't support these ideas just because you have a D by your name, they are bad for our economy, for global stability, and more  Excuse me for believing so.

I think the foreign policy bit is honestly the worst or near the worst. All these people clamoring for Joe Biden types don't realize that Joe Biden types are likely to continue our garbage foreign policy and lead to many more innocent lives lost in the future. There's a reason that Bernie has the most support/donations of currently serving military members and veterans by far :rip: They don't want to go to another war, or for their kids to, and they are tired of safe clean Democrats trouting out "Sending Troops will be my last resort, but we must lead the world with our morals and showcase what democracy looks like!" every damn time, and then immediately reneging on that promise. I don't think there has even been a truly anti-war President in our lifetimes, thats how bad it is. But almost none of them campaigned on "We're going to war!" - and here we are.

You make a very great point on the neoliberalism as it relates to foreign policy.

It's what US foreign policy has pushed for and in many cases forced on other countries all over the world for the last 30 years at least.

This included in some cases invading the countries who wouldn't do as US interests wanted, assassinating or removing democratically elected leader(s) through CIA-backed coups or otherwise, and installing someone who would cooperate, doing the bidding of US interests by pushing neoliberal policies in their countries and decimating peoples livelihoods and assistance in these countries.
