I'm not saying that it hasn't been an impressive rise, but if you had limited resources (like the other candidates) it'd be a terrible idea to spend all your money on ads like he has. We're talking like 150 Million on ads alone.

That's the privilege of being a billionaire.

The democratic debate? Is that not what we are talking about? Or are we talking about another debate?

Edit: omg nvm I was thinking something completely different :deadbanana:

and if he doesn't get the nom (likely) it will have been potentially a billion dollars that will be lost for nothing. Imagine if you divided that into $20 Million chunks & distributed them to every district in the country. You would absolutely crush the Republicans. What if it was split between every state that Dems were fighting for in the senate. That's like 40-60 Million PER STATE. That money could be the difference between a simple majority or a super majority.

True! But at least he has pledged to pump money into the nominee. He'll probably help heavily contested races as well.

I don't care for him but his money could be put to good use later on.

This. Until we can fix the system and overturn Citizens United, we have to play the game.

But instead he’s running the literal definition of a vanity campaign. I know people that work with the campaign. They say his strategy has essentially been to blast tv with nice, well produced ads that show everything good, nothing bad, and to stay out the debates so as not to allow anyone to bring up negatives or allow anyone to get bad impression. “Why show your bad side when you can show everyone your good side.” is basically what I was told.

that money could’ve done wonders for state party infrastructures, especially those in deep red states that are lacking hundreds of thousands of dollars in fund - some in debt.

He was I edited my first comment already

I think in my mind I knew he was the other rich guy and I knew Bloomberg entered the race

And since they aren't candidates I'm following closely I literally got them mixed up for a moment in my head :rip:

Hopefully the dems near the bottom (now under Bloomberg) will attack him on stage at the Feb debate.

That's the flip side of not being in the debate, you can't rebut the negative things candidate will say.

In my ruby red state, his ads (and a few of Steyer’s) are the only ones that are playing. No other candidate is spending money in my state. I’m not sure what the strategy is here? The Bloomberg ads are really good ads, as they attack Trump effectively. I’m not going to vote for him in the primary, but I do appreciate the fact that he is spending TV time on attacking Trump. Maybe it will click with some women who are on the fence about voting for Trump again?

Here in Texas you cannot turn on the TV without seeing Bloomberg on TV. I am actually SICK  of it at this point. In English AND Spanish.

I've seen a few Biden ads and some Steyer ads.

Besides that I haven't seen anyone else on TV.

Anything against Trump is ok with me! Lol

I have seen a couple of Biden commercial spots on CNN awhile back. They were pretty good, but Bloomberg’s do look more professionally done than anything else I’ve seen. He probably is spending most of his money on that...and it shows.

If he’s too chicken to do debates with his contemporaries... how’s he gonna fare against Trump 🤡🤡
