Paparazzi vs Bad Romance

So Miss Debra does not usually lose popularity contests, but she was beaten by Paparazzi yesterday.

Bad Romance is the other song proven to be able to win this empty fight against the Lady in Red. 

So which of these two songs is more popular? Bad Romance does seem more obvious, but Paparazzi is clearly extremely popular as well!

I think, right now (relatively fresh off a brand new album), there is a weird mix of nostalgia vs recency bias influencing *some* people. Abracadabra is a very good song. A new LG staple.

 

but re: these two songs:

it is not *my personal favorite* from the debut album, but Paparazzi is easily the *most exquisite* song on The Fame (& should have been the third single, fwiw)

For some reason Paparazzi doesn't even feel like a Gaga song to me anymore. Her voice and songwriting on that seem so different than usual. It's a perfect pop song but I always feel a distance when I listen to it. Again, it's an amazing song, but it has a unique place in her discography which makes it difficult to compare to other tracks.

Bad Romance, on the other had, is quintessential Gaga. It was my #1 song of any artist for the longest time. So it wins this one.

I voted Paparazzi because of the 2009 VMA performance, and because it is the prequel to the iconic Telephone music video (not to mention that the Paparazzi video itself is one of her best).

Bad Romance is the better song, by far, but Paparazzi has cemented itself in pop culture with both impact and legacy.

There is one thing that y'all have to know about me: for me Bad Romance always wins. And so it does this time.

Paparazzi is a phenomenal pop song and one of THE Lady Gaga songs in existence. Also not to mention the VMAs... but Bad Romance takes the game onto a whole new level. And I feel it's forever gonna be my no.1

I wonder if Paparazzi is the officialy second most popular song on GGD? Clearly behind BR, but ahead of new classic Debra (which usually beats songs but couldn’t beat Paparazzi)

edit: I’d also like to note that Paparazzi did not beat Abracadabra by a landslide like how Bad Romance is beating Paparazzi right now, so Bad Romance must really be far into first place (which makes absolute sense)

After careful observation of GGD,

I would assume the runner-up to BR

as fan favorite/most beloved would be Scheiße

(even though it should be Bloody Mary or Heavy Metal Lover)

It’s just the only song I ever remember beating Abracadabra besides Bad Romance is what I’m basing that on.

Edit: Paparazzi beating Abracadabra yesterday is the only reason I even made this poll. It didn’t seem like any song besides Bad Romance could do it!
