Once again, the Bernie Bros want to relitigate 2016. What happened, happened. But now we're looking at a political landscape where Joe Biden consistently polls higher against President Trump than any of the other Dem candidates, including Sanders. Source: https://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2020/president/National.html

I know what it's like to see a poll that doesn't have your candidate doing well, but if the best the far left can do when they face a polling setback is to argue about things that happened four years ago then I'm unimpressed.

That's the thing. I find it odd trying to constantly bring up Hillary as some kind of proof that centrists are bad for elections

Yes the Democrats lost last election with a centrist (just as they won many in the past too without leftists)

Again, besides the luck of the electorial college because of how the break down happened, it's very common for parties to switch after two consecutive terms. Bernie could of just as easily lost in 2016 for all we know

Again, I think Bernie can do more than Biden to make some needed structural changes in America. I may not agree with how far left he wants to go in certain things but I don't think the rest of governemnt will allow him to go beyond a certain point anyway so I'm not concerned...

Either way I think the general direction Bernie would take America in I think is better than Biden... So before anyone thinks I'm being biased in favor of Biden, I'm not endorsing him. I do want Bernie to win

But I also think always using Hillary as proof of how politics and voters work is a very weak argument to say the least

Bernie has this it factor to energize voter turnout... But on the flip side some centrists that would have Biden's vote could vote for Trump if it's between Trump and Bernie. Which is the stronger factor at play? I think it's hard to really say because if Bernie does win the nomination it will be the first time (at last in a long time) that someone that far left runs

A lot of how the votes would split is still theoretical. Polls for primary only tell us so much for the actual presidential race

But i do think the odds are pretty even and at this point Bernie could be almost as likely to win the primary as Biden so well see.

Again I'd rather have Bernie than Biden

TioBernie

Unlike many progressives who are willing to vote for this a**hole, the war criminal will NOT have my vote.. However, I still think Bernie can take the nomination. We’ll see.

She did win by 3 million votes tho :selena:

Trump literally got lucky by the breakdown of the votes by area which give him the electorial college votes

If Hilary was so bad for electability she shouldn't wouldn't have won the popular vote by such a margin :oprah:

PS: before my comment is taken out of context I'm not trying to imply that Biden is the better Candidate (I don't support him)... I'm merely saying Hillary wasn't as unelectable as some of you make her out to be

Not only did she win the popular vote by 3 million but historically after 2 term Presidencies it's pretty common for Americans to elect a President from the other party... Trump could have still won if it was someone else got the democratic nod (tho we can't be sure)

People throw this around all the time, but did she win? Is she in the White House?

Nope. She lost. You don't win the Presidency through the popular vote. You win it state by state.

And a lot that had to do with Trump painting her as a crooked, lying person who's part of the Establishment.

If Dems haven't figured out that putting an Establishment candidate against a populist like Trump is not going to end well, then that's on them when they lose again.

They should learn the lesson from 2016. It should have been EASY to defeat Trump.

Not by being boring and mediocre. He won’t excite people to get out to vote like Trump does (@every centrist). **** “2015 normalcy”, Obama 2.0 is gonna lead to Trump 2.0.

Ppl throw it because it shows that ppl did backed her so it is relevant in terms of the argument that people say she's not electable or couldn't gain enough support. She DID get the support. The voted were just divided by region in a way that was not favourable to her. But voter support was there

It can be argued that trying to use her loss as proof that a centrist won't win is just as dismissable and also doesn't prove anything

She lost, many democratic centrists have won too over the decades

This 1 loss (especially after a 2 term democratic president) literally is not proof of anything for this election

It has nothing to do with that. I acknowledge that he's leading nationally and in the polls.

But if you actually contextualized it you'd realize a lot of this has to do with the fact of name recognition and that MSM keep regurgitating that he's the most electable, which people in turn internalize, believe, and then repeat it back to them, which they then regurgitate.

It's a circular cycle which started with the media and name recognition. It doesn't actually have anything to do with him being electable.

Because he has much of the same baggage as Hillary did and Trump will paint him the same way.

Especially the fact his son was in Ukraine. Regardless if that was legal or not, it looks bad, and makes him look corrupt.

Keep saying this is just relitigating 2016 when in reality we just don't want a repeat of 2016 which is exactly what's going to happen if you put another establishment, centrist candidate against him :smh:

But hey, I'm sure you'll ignore all this, and probably not reposnd, since it doesn't fall in line with the claims being made by the corporate media that you cherish so.

This argument is so bad. Biden wont get the nomination without getting the votes and the delegates. What DNC should do? Ignore that one candidate got the votes / delegates and nominate the one that is second?:excuseu:

:interestinga:nothing in Biden’s past compares to emails and Benghazi. When those things came up, she sank in the polls.

When old tapes and the Hunter Biden thing have came up, Biden has only continued strong. People aren’t buying that bs this time. :excuseu:ntm, Biden survived all that **** twice when he was Obama’s running mate, and both elections were a landslide.

Hillary literally lost MULTIPLE states that have been blue for decades.

Americans are SICK of standard politicians. They're tired of the same thing. It's literally the reason why so many voted for Trump. If anything they hoped it would be a grenade to shake things up.

Fact is Trump pretends to be a populist and for the people. Yes it is the case that historically we go for the other party after 2 terms but this is also a special time in history.

You don't win against a populist with a standard, establishment politician who literally told his donors nothing would change under his administration :smh:

You're also not American so you don't feel how Americans feel or see on the ground how things are.

Putting Biden up against Trump is a massive risk and is just asking for a repeat of 2016.

If you or others can't see that that's really on you, and being out of touch with where most people are.

Hence why I said if DEMOCRATS vote for Biden then hello Trump 2020.

No where did I say they should go against what most of the voters voted for.

If they go for Biden because Dems buy into the electability argument pushed by the MSM then that's who we get.

Doesn't change the fact that Trump will run circles around him though :ohwell:

I mean damn he can't even handle a debate or question from a voter without getting flustered and messy.

Wtf is he going to do up against Trump?? Lmao it will be a mess.

I will pray for this country, and I'm not even a believer.

I agree on the part that it's not a regular time. I'm not even saying Bernie won't be a better candidate than Biden for votes.

All I was literally saying was that Hillary is a little over slammed in my opinion and that blaming her all the time for the democratic loss is harsh and doesn't prove anything especially since its pretty normal to switch parties after 2 terms anyway. We literally don't know for sure what would have happened if it had been Bernie instead

As for me not being an American, our media, our channels even some radio stations are the same and interlinked. We have more American media than Canadian media that's how much the US absorbed Canadian media and culture

Most Canadians know MORE about US politics than Canadian politics. And setting that aside I follow politics a lot more than the average Jo

I get my news from the exact same sites and channels and articles as u do. When polls are released I see the exact same stuff u do. Ur not exposed to any media I'm not

The biggest difference would be not feeling the system and in that sense no foreigner can be as qualified as an American so there is that factor. But in terms of knowledge of what goes on in the 21st century I don't have access to more information as anywhere else. Unless ur in North Korea the media is now global not national anymore

I'm saying non Americans can still know and follow enough information to give their 2-cents. We're perfectly aware were not the ones that are gona sway ur democracy

A well informed non-American can still know more than an ignorant American that doesn't educated himself :toofunny:

People need to forget about electability. Just vote for who you think should be president.

It's hard to say how people would react to a debate between Trump and Biden. First, Trump cant really have the same attacks as some democrats giving republican and his policies.

Second, people aren't as though on male candidates as they are on women. Maybe that's why Biden so so debates dont really had an impact on his numbers.
