Priorities. Iran lacks human rights WITHIN the country and with time it can be fixed, the US preaches about human rights unless you aren't a white american then you can go **** yourself, and you know that. As I said before, you can defend the US all you want but statistically speaking you're wrong.

They're responsible for millions of deaths. As of right now the US has a concentration camp holding immigrants and their children, some of whom passed away because of negligence and others who will most likely have psychological scarring for the rest of their lives. Y'all have a gun control problem and rampant mass shootings. Police brutality and systematic racism hasn't improved. I could go on and on and on. Yes, Iran is oppressive but so is the US in a lot of ways and just because you feel like you're able to live your life freely it doesn't mean that's the reality of the majority of the American population. This shouldn't be an issue of being pro-Iran or anti-American. Both governments are at fault and have caused a great deal of pain on its people, it's not hard to see that but it's also important to acknowledge that the US government has also caused a great deal of pain on the whole world and as a citizen it should be easier for you to empathize with the average Iranian than with a greedy politician that only has their best interest in mind. No such thing as greater country. No such thing as worthy war.

Yes homosexuality is illegal but that doesn't mean gays have the word f*g written on their forehead for everyone to find out and get them executed, it's rare and when it happens it's usually big news. You keep talking about human rights and how good america is good to you bla bla spoken like a real american, when I'm talking about the US' crimes OUTSIDE of the US, the countries that were destroyed because of the US, the lives that were lost because of the US. lack of human rights vs millions of lost lives and refugees/destroyed countries, I wonder which is less evil. TheSlash 14,539
I kinda guessed it that it was a mistake made by Iran. What I thought tho is that the missile aimed for the US military in Irak accidentally hit the plane . In any way, it's a tragedy Ew, David!
Chic 20,830
You're all comparing the foreign policy of the U.S. government/military to the domestic policies of Iran's government and its culture, so this is all a moot point. The U.S. has better domestic policies and culture by far. Iran is terrible militarily and domestically.

That's what I'm saying. Generally speaking it's not like the US takes over production or ownership of the resources Ppl keep bringing up the oil conspiracy that that's why the US gets involved in those wars but I've yet to see any real evidence that oil has anything to do with it And now that the US already produces nearly 70% of its own consumption with the shale revolution, and Canada and Mexico fill most of the rest of the gap... Middle Eastern Oil isn't even that relevant to the US anymore for energy security anyway And the 1 Country that still supplies the US with any meaningful amount of oil still (Saudi Arabia) is usually in fair terms with the US anyway and freely supplies it (and they keep tight control on their oil resources so it's not even like the US could control any of it if they tried) So to me these oil conspiracies make little sense

Me: Iran is the lesser evil out of the two, the US has caused wars and loss of millions of lives. Him: at least we have gay marriage ma'am- Even if that was indeed what the Iraq war was fundamentally all about... 2003 was the begging of an oil energy crisis that lasted until 2008. It was certainly more believable then Oil supply hasn't been an issue since 2008 and most projections suggest it never will be again because peak demand is forecast to come before peak production. And as I said the US already produces most of its own oil now with Canada and Mexico providing most of the remaining gap Oil is too abundant right now and isn't valuable enough now to justify any kind of war over it Heck some oil companies can't even break even right now cuz that $59/barrel doesn't cut it. They certainly miss the $148/barrel peak from 2008 I'm sure tho I certainly don't
