Throw your support behind Bernie to stop this mess from becoming the nominee. He will get steam rolled by Trump. Also before Liz fans come at me, I like her but shes back to polling at a solid 3rd, far from the top 3. It’s time to switch. As for Buttigieg fans, he can’t be the nominee with 0% african american support. Hes basically just running to be a spoiler in Iowa (a state thats 90% white) This is basically why I've switched over to Bernie. I love Warren a lot, I think she's got a great personality and a great message with a lot of good plans, but at this point, this is strictly between Biden and Sanders. Unless something drastic and extreme happens to Biden or Sanders, Warren just can't get the nomination at the rate she's been going. She had very strong momentum like a couple of months ago, but that's basically died down. 𝔗𝔥𝔢 𝔪𝔬𝔫𝔰𝔱𝔢𝔯 𝔱𝔬𝔯𝔢 𝔞𝔴𝔞𝔶 𝔦𝔱𝔰 𝔪𝔞𝔰𝔨 𝔞𝔫𝔡...𝔦𝔱𝔰 𝔣𝔞𝔠𝔢 𝔴𝔞𝔰 𝔪𝔦𝔫𝔢. REALITY 80,185
As someone who's in college right now taking a Computer Science major, I can tell you it's not easy to get into this already very competitive field. Yes, the future is heading towards warranting more tech-related employees, but the subject of coding itself is not just something you learn overnight. It's a rigorous course and it's completely ignorant for Biden to just say, "Anybody who can throw coal into a furnace can learn how to program, for God's sake!" Joe doesn't just "tell it like it is" any more than Trump does, he makes up stories and gets things confused and then says problematic stuff because he's old and out of touch. Trump is just a narcissist and a pathological liar. That's not the problem, its the flippant tone thats offensive to people. Coal miners will have to adjust into other work fields, because its become an unnecessary work force, but just saying "Anybody who can throw coal into a furnace can learn how to program, for God's sake!" undermines the difficulty and training required both for coal mining and for programming. It also disregards what kind of work coal miners actually want to do, and even though I support a federal jobs guarantee as part of the GND, I don't think we should be getting to the place where we mandate professions (which is why this jobs guarantee also allows people to retire early in full, offers training in multiple areas, etc. and is not just saying "you're a programmer now!") 私自身もこの世の中も誰もかれもが, どんなに華やかな人生でも, どんなに悲惨な人生でも, いつかは変貌し, 破壊され、消滅してしまう. すべてがもともとこの世に存在しない一瞬の幻想なのだから

Sure, there are more resources out there that let people know how to code, but coding is not only very competitive, but it's also very difficult. It takes a lot of time and energy to learn how to code properly. You can't just "pick it up" like Biden implies that you can. 𝔗𝔥𝔢 𝔪𝔬𝔫𝔰𝔱𝔢𝔯 𝔱𝔬𝔯𝔢 𝔞𝔴𝔞𝔶 𝔦𝔱𝔰 𝔪𝔞𝔰𝔨 𝔞𝔫𝔡...𝔦𝔱𝔰 𝔣𝔞𝔠𝔢 𝔴𝔞𝔰 𝔪𝔦𝔫𝔢. Lion Heart 15,041
Someone once said that "anyone who tells miners to 'learn to code' has obviously done neither." And this fits so perfectly. Biden will lose the same states Hillary did if he keeps this up. ▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀

I'm fully aware it's the tone people are "taking issue" with. But let's be honest with ourselves, no one seriously thinks all coal miners are going to become programmers. The people taking issue with this are either going to be coal miners (who won't vote democrat anyways because they hate voting in their own favor), sensitive programmers who think their profession is super hard (and are definitely voting Warren or Bernie anyways), and democrats who already hate Biden. One of the reasons people get fed up with democrats is because they constantly make a big deal out of nothing. And this is the definition of nothing. The "sensitive programmers who think their profession is super hard" thing is also ignorant as well. I'm going to college right now majoring in computer science, and it's not an easy thing. Not only that, but this is an extremely competitive field. With each year, there are only more and more people both in the United States and travelling from abroad coming over the U.S. to study for these types of jobs. I'm sorry, but this IS a hard field of study. I might be new to it all, but unless you've actually had the experience of going to school for it or working in the industry, you can't really speak on that. If you think being a programmer is hard, try being a *insert other job here*. If you think being a *insert any job here* is hard, try being a programmer. Every job is hard and every job is easy depending on the person talking. The thing is, no one cares about how hard you think your job is. Also, computer science in school is really different from the actual programming. More importantly, you don't need a computer science degree to work as a programmer. So if you think the program is hard but haven't actually worked, then you can't really speak on it either.

For what it's worth, in the conversations I've had with Building Trades Union workers, they do NOT see "solar panel installer" as a just transition from fossil fuel jobs like oil/gas pipefitting, which require a high degree of training if you're participating in a certified apprenticeship program. As usual, Biden could phrase things better. But he truly believes that there is a future for our nation's coal miners, and we all know that getting them there is an important and complicated policy challenge of the 21st century. Politics aside from greener economy and how fast and how exactly to invest in it etc.... On an individual level these job transitions are more complicated i think than politicians make it sound like The Knowledgeable required for green energy is different than mining. And also the installations and factories won't always be be built in the exact same places jobs are lost and the jobs they create may not be exactly the same either Politicians make it sound like it's a simple job swap but the logistics and technicalities of it are a little more complex than that At the end of the day in a rapidly changing high skill economy training programs are probably one of the best investments the government can make I'm just giving a general generic take on it. I'm still taking a break from serious political debates so I'm not gonna go too deep into anything

Okay...but computer science is notoriously a difficult and competitive subject in school. So while it is all relative, don’t try and downplay how difficult some jobs are. I’m not going here touting “Oh, there are sensitive doctors out there who think their profession is super hard”. Also yeah, CS in university is different from the real world, but if you want to use your logic, then that’s the same for every job and major. At the very least while my experience is limited, it’s more than you can say. 𝔗𝔥𝔢 𝔪𝔬𝔫𝔰𝔱𝔢𝔯 𝔱𝔬𝔯𝔢 𝔞𝔴𝔞𝔶 𝔦𝔱𝔰 𝔪𝔞𝔰𝔨 𝔞𝔫𝔡...𝔦𝔱𝔰 𝔣𝔞𝔠𝔢 𝔴𝔞𝔰 𝔪𝔦𝔫𝔢.
Doot 2
Making coding sound like it's easy to learn. Coding is something only certain types of individuals can succeed at. I have a four year degree in it and I can remember how to make it say "Hello World".
