English is not my mother tongue obviously, I started to really enjoy music since I was 4-5 years old, watching MTV, and through the years I discover how many times I simply misheard lyrics and created a whole new narrative for songs 

For example Chic - Le Freak

"aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaafrica!!" instead of "ahhhh freak out" - for me it was a song that idolized Africa 

 

Bellini - Samba de Janeiro

"samba samba dejande" 

 

Xtinct - Genie In A Bottle

Come come and let meow  (this kitten over there I guess)

 

Space Girls (this is how I called them, the idea of "spice" looked meh to me, so they were like futuristic girls from space) - Wannabe

I tell u wanna want want chu really really want 

samba di down na it allarand 

 

I really bothched this song 

 

There are probably more that I can't remember right now, sometimes I still sing some songs with the wrong lyrics that I created in my childhood

I thought in Baby One More Time, Britney was saying "oh biben biben" instead of baby   I didn't know what or who biben was but it didn't matter. That's all I can think of right now

Oh and in this one Evanescence song Cloud Nine she sings "guess it wasn't real after all" and for years I thought it was "castle walls are frail after all". Probably noone will get that but

This is one I heard for YEARS (since 2011) and I didn't read the actual lyrics until recently and I was like "oh that makes more sense" lmao. I was like wtf did she kill her parents because they got divorced or something?

I know right? And even to this day I still hear "died" and sing that word, it doesn't sound like "tried" at all in the song it's so confusing...

One that instantly comes to mind from when I was little is Evacuate The Dancefloor by Cascada I always thought she was singing "F*ck you on the dancefloor" and I was like "how are they allowed to sing the F word on radio like that?" lmao. Then a few years later I listened with the song title in mind and was like "oh that makes more sense".

A lot of Gaga's song lyrics I misheard back then especially on ARTPOP because I had bad earphones back then like in Donatella I thought some of the lyrics were "Tailor these clothes to fit your gills" and "Listen to her radiance, her magic" and others as well.

 

Also in Scheibe I thought the beginning "german" part was "Aus be aus can be flaugen, begun be uske but bear"(like an actual bear)
