ive read the study and im very confused how they got to that result. they themselves say

"Descriptive statistics and the correlations between age, sex, income, personality and having a high‐status car are shown in Table S4. Age was negatively and household income positively correlated with status car ownership. Personality traits were not correlated with status car ownership"

personality traits show no correlation? idgi someone explain

I think you're misunderstanding what they wrote. The paragraph you quoted talks about the general parameters of car ownership. The younger you are, the less likesly you are to own a car. The more income you have, the more likely you are to own a car. But the liklihood of general car ownership (regardless of price point, brand, prestige, just literally any car) is not influenced by their personality traits.

Does this mean I'm a good person because I'm so ****ing ignorant about cars? I only know the brand names but I don't know how they look like lol.

So every rich person that ever existed is bad?

No it's not saying everyone who loves or owns an expensive cars is bad from what I gathered. Rather it's saying that bad people are more likely to buy or love them but that doesn't mean owning one or loving them = being a bad person. I hope that makes sense it's a bit confusing and took me a second :)

cool cool
