Sometimes artists choose a song title to be the title of the album too, while others look for a title that generally represents the album's theme instead of a title track. How do you like albums to be called?

'ARTPOP' was meant to be representative of the entire album though? It just happened to also be a title track.

That's a rare case. When you think about it, Gaga is really smart when choosing her album titles. I mean, the Fame is also a song title but at the same time it also represents the whole album.

However the artist wants to call it.

Generally (for albums with a concept), if the artist chooses a track to name the album, it's because it represents the album.

I know but I mean ARTPOP is not the best example of the question you're asking, because ARTPOP wasn't chosen because it's just a song on the album, it was chosen because it's representative of the whole project.

So she made a song to fit in with the whole project unlike artists who name albums after songs? It really is a reverse experience :awesome:

I personally prefer a title that represents the theme of the album versus just the title track.

Just like how I'd prefer custom artwork or something other than just the artists face. Aside from TFM and BTW, her album covers haven't really done all that much for me.

Title track is just too cheap and unoriginal. I prefer when they are called with a title that represents the album's theme.

i like the style of Queen of The Clouds, where the title is somewhere hidden in the songs

I like album titles that actually mean something, as well as being the name of a song, like ARTPOP. Or if it has something to connect it to the artistry in the songs like Electra Heart.

Dangerous Woman, even though it's a song title, seems so juvenile to me and like a lazy choice.

I don't have a preference. While I think the latter can be more creative to have a song whose title fits the whole album is a thing that requires a crafted and well-done album also.
