Ivy 11,601
I can understand how you would be sad over this, OP. And I can also understand Gaga's side. Everyone is human in this situation and we can have empathy for both sides, we don't have to be always looking for who's right and who's wrong do we? It sounds like it was just a bad combination of events. I worked retail for a while, and the amount of people I had to smile at and say hi to in a day was .. even when tired, sick, migraine headache, death in family, etc. It still was my job. I kind of feel like it's LG's job to do that too, for her fans. Anyway I hope OP gets to meet her again one day and it goes better for both of them

We have videos all the way back from 2012 of fans trying to meet her the wrong way. Safety is, and should be, every one's number one priority. That's why you hire security. And even with security, you're not 100% safe. There's always the possibility of a loophole. I mean we have Assassinated Presidents. Clear examples from history. (I am not implying that OP is dangerous. I'm sure he is not. I'm just highlighting the scenarios that many celebrities are aware of when hiring security. Security first and foremost is a boundary for the artist.) That’s not a fan. That person sells autographs and is in no way a fan. Also this is kinda disrespectful to an actual fan who made this thread because I’m pretty sure he was not as rude as that man in the video.. I see what you mean but I honestly don’t think this situation was that serious.

My best friend worked in retail for 12 years. I can't even begin to tell the hell she sometimes went through. It's literally like you say, be polite and nice evertime, every day. And then there's always that day, or that morning you are going through a bad day, shitty things happening in your life, you just can't be that nice, an then you find a not so nice costumer... And you have your day or week ruined.

It was a stranger getting close to Gaga. It was serious enough that she sent security to talk to OP. The world is not a safe place.

I am so sorry for your experience and would definitely give you a hug right now if I could. I can personally understand that you didn’t fully listen to what the security advised you to do and I’m sure I would have gone crazy if I ever saw her in the same room as me (and for everyone here that says it’s his fault, I’d very much like to see you stay civilized and not act like your idol is a few feet away from you in such a situation). She could have obviously handled the situation better than she did and y’all need to take your stan glasses off and stop acting like everything Lady Gaga does has an excuse no matter what. Yes, maybe there is a reason behind the way she acted and I’m not denying it but what she did was beyond disrespectful. I won’t even bring up the fact that some of you still have the audacity to say ‘she is a human’ as if the writer of his thread is a robot with no emotions who just happened to see the one he’s looking up to. Both of them are humans and both of them can make mistakes accordingly. If Nicki or Katy were instead of Gaga in this scenario, literally the whole site would be attacking and calling them names. Practice what you preach, people. Sending loads of love again, hope you enjoyed the show at least! That's your issue though... That you're incapable of acting normal and respectful even when you're super excited. Frankly if you haven't enough control over yourself not to act like a putz in front of others, even Lady Gaga, then stay away. There's a time and place for doing the fan thing and it's not when she's clearly not in the mood.

I understand both sides of the story but just a wave from her could have solved this situation especially since she knew he was just a fan and not a stranger or stalker. elijahfan 24,869
The thing we have to keep in mind is that such a micro-event in our lives is what she's living 1000 times everyday, and she might have said hello and waved the 999 first times, but you had the bad luck of being the 1000th when she wasn't having it anymore. You definitely shouldn't take it personally, I'm sure if she could read you she'd explain to you it just wasn't a good moment.

I said what I believe in my original comment and I think there could have been millions of ways she could have handled the situation instead of ignoring him. At the end of the day, no one here besides the user in question has ever witnessed such an awkward and sudden situation so it’s safe to say that neither of us would know how to react at the moment, unless one has an extremely good imagination which I don’t think is the case for anyone in this thread. Daylight Jokers 14,958
The entitlement of some people here. I don't look at her as a god, but I also don't look at her as a zoo animal. Whenever I see celebs (I've seen a few local celebs before) I don't approach them, I wouldn't even wave to them to get a reaction. Why? Because they're not working, they're there to spend time with their friends or simply just have a me-time. I get that the OP was disappointed, but some people here are so entitled they forgot celebs like Gaga are humans too.

I have to laugh. When I want to be alone I go home with friends. I don’t go to the casino in the hotel where I am having a residency being the only person with pink hair and a rock T-shirt surrounded by security 8ft tall guys. as I said, having the option to have a closed spot for me in the casino at the vip area. oh and everyone cut the “she didn’t know” narrative. I have spoken to the OP and first thing they said was: “hey Gaga we are from Barcelona we came here to see Enigma!” And then the next day having her speaking at a concert saying: omg I feel so lonely because I can’t talk to people but thank god I have you, my fans, because you make my life complete. Thank you. I love you forever xoxo Joanne. my point with that “monologue” (lol try to say it out loud, it takes 10 seconds) is that the hardest thing to do takes you 20 seconds of attention. Just waving would have been enough and that’s 2 seconds with a smile. not looking at someone to just smile and wave is RUDE I don’t care if you are a celebrity or a regular person. It is rude to anyone. That’s it. She was rude, she’s human, she can make mistakes. But not very be kind always kindness will heal the world queen of her. nodandsmile 9,759
@KURUSHITOVSKA It's totally understandable that you feel that way (considering all the things you sacrificed), but I don't think you should feel bad or take it personaly. Sometimes I see her gleefully taking time to talk to fans, when you met her it probably was not one of those times (maybe because she got things going on). Don't think YOU were the problem, you just approached her at the wrong time(when she was not in the mood, because it does happen to every human). Sending love and hope that you can meet her on another day, at a better moment
Hebi 13,928
It's weird, because Gaga always preach "I love people, I'd love to have a conversation with a stranger" ON STAGE and then she doesn't want to talk to anybody in real life? Excuse me, I love her so much, but she's kinda fake in that way. And the fact her ex said "be kind...er" after leaving Las Vegas... like, we don't who she really is. And no, the 5f2 documentary was obviously staged I still lover her with all my heart but I empathize with you. We are all like that at times, right? and not for being a star she has no right to act like that. But if it were my case I would be heartbroken like for life... even when it was neither the place nor the moment. Not everyone has the same luck
Edonis 28,607
I understand OP's disappointment because it would've been cool to interact with your idol and have that special moment, y'know? It would've been nice to have that memory to add to your experience. I mean, who wouldn't. But without sounding too much like an apologist (because apparently if you defend LG in any form you're brain-washed and treating her like a god?) she isn't required to talk to others or smile or wave. She's always been this way; there were so many times in 2010 where she would exit her hotel or apartment and go straight to her car without even reacting to fans screaming just a few feet away. I've heard in more candid situations it's even harder to speak with her. I mean, she's flat out told people no before when approached for photos and stuff. And by going after her even when security said she would approach you, it did kind of make the situation worse. Idk, I hope someday you can get the chance to meet with her! Maybe if she ever goes on tour or something there will be an opportunity.
